All about Stairs

If you are a personal friend or if you have been reading my blog, you know that we were victims of the Typhoon Ondoy and the flooding it created. We live in a bungalow house owned by my uncle, which we are renting. And after the Ondoy incident, we realized just how important it is to have a second floor, and well i guess it wont be bad to have a third floor as well.
In line with that, here’s some pretty cool staircases. Got this from a forwarded email from a former staff of mine.

spiral staircase with a twist

staircase with alternating steps

staircase with shoe rack
This one is pretty brilliant and space-saving I think. I’ll keep tab of this idea so I can perhaps incorporate this much later on when we build our own house.

staircase for environmentalists
This one is absolutely creative, but I wonder how sturdy it could be given how thin those metals sheets are.

staircase and bookshelf in one
See below for another view of that staircase. Weird though, because looking at it reminds me of the attic where Anne Frank and her family stayed during the Holocaust years.

top view of staircase/bookshelf

staircase with a slide
This one is for people who are always in a hurry, or for those who work as fire fighters.

another staircase that doubles as a book shelf

staircase for the people who like the forest

View from the inside of tree staircase
Treebeard will surely be unhappy with the last one.
Well, I hope the pictures somewhat sparked your creative side, in thinking of your own whimsical staircase.

I love the first bookshelf staircase
I’d love to have that kind of staircase in my house
(No shoes allowed though then.. Can’t afford getting mud on my books
hehe true, id probably do the same thing if i decide to have that kind of staircase. i so love my books. too bad i lost almost all of them to Ondoy.
Nice layout! and thanks for blogging this… In the future I would want my stairs to have those pull out drawers or bookshelf… really nice…
Nice looking and practical stairs. I love the one with built in drawer. space saver!
By the way, I already added you to my friend’s list and thank you for adding me. Hope to get in touch with you regularly. Keep blogging my friend!
