Affordable and High Quality Eye Glasses at Zenni Optical

zenni opticalIn the past, having an affordable pair of eyeglasses almost always translates to ending up with a pair that is low-quality and rather plain looking. A bothersome effect of owning such pair, is looking like a drab or looking so much older than your years, which no one wants of course. If you want a highly durable pair, that is also trendy, it is tantamount to spending big bucks of cash or allotting quite a reasonable portion of your credit card’s limit to afford such a pair. That may be okay, but with the global economic crisis catching up on most of us, you have to admit that almost everyone is trying to save and looking for great deals. As such, Zenni Optical comes to the rescue of people who wears glasses who wants to save but does not want to compromise quality and style. Their pairs are priced as low as $8, which is probably the reason why most online shoppers ranks Zenni Optical as The #1 online Rx glasses store of their choice.

Please see Eric’s Review of Zenni Optical to find out why people are raving about this store. It is an unbiased review of their service together with a clear explanation of why the said store is capable of offering such rates. But to cut it short the store is capable of offering such rates simply because they do not offer designer frames. Nonetheless, their frames are equally trendy and fashionable. At the same time, their rates are very competitive because the glasses are manufactured from China. Although rest assured that the quality is just the same. The anti-glare coating is also priced competitively at $4.95, where as locally, you will be charged somewhere around $50-$100 for that. The trade off is only the turn around time and this is reasonable for the price. For the Lowest Price Progressive Glasses, don’t forget to go to Zenni Optical.

Point system or Raffle? Please vote

confusedPlease cast your votes dear readers. The question is in regards to my blog contest. Pardon me since this is the first time I am doing this. The reason I am asking is because some fellow bloggers asked how I will be drawing the winner. Hubby was telling me that I should use a point system to make it more fair. So I am bringing the question to you guys. Please let me know if you want a point system or you are in favor of just doing a raffle.

Leave me a comment to let me know your thoughts. The poll will run for three days, after which I will tally the votes. Thanks much! :)

Pressure washing instead of repainting

Pressure washing is something that is not very known in the Philippines. I read about it sometime last week when I chanced upon an ad of Seattle pressure wash services somewhere in some website. I just thought that it would be nice  if the said service is also available in the Philippines. After all, it would be cheaper compared to having your entire house repainted after, say, every 5 years or so. The thought came to me since most of our neighbors have recently started repainting their gates and their walls. I guess it was because of the tell-tale signs made by the flooding caused by Typhoon Ketsana.

pressure washing

Now back to the washing services. Aside from the savings you can get from opting for a pressure wash service instead of repainting, what I find interesting is that the said company is makes use of what they call green power wash technology.  Basically, it means that they make use of non-toxic chemicals as cleaning solutions. Aside from that, they immediately reuse the water for spraying and vacuum purposes, thereby conserving water. Hopefully, the same service be available here sometime in the future. Oh, and another impressive thing about the said website and well, most american service companies, is the fact that you can readily get an estimate in their site to give you a ballpark figure of what your costs will be.

So, was I able to convince you that it’s really a good idea to opt for pressure washing instead of repainting? :)

Happy Birthday to my Loving Dad

My dad taking care of my little boy

It’s a special day today, because it’s my loving dad’s birthday! He’s in his mid-fifties. I pray that the Lord will continue to bless him so that he can live at a ripe, old age and enjoy his grand children (only one for now) and I pray that he sees the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

With all of my heart, I love you Dad.

For other miracles today: my little boy said the word “mommy” twice. :) Praise God!

ABA Evaluation and progress update

ABA is short for Applied Behavior Analysis. This morning, my son’s new therapist and the case manager came over to evaluate him and to draft a program that will help him most. We were referred to ABA Teamworks by Dra. Eusebio when we went to her last March 10. Unlike his occupational therapy sessions that is held at his OT’s house, the ABA sessions are going to be held in our house. The main aim is to work on his compliance so we can start with his speech therapy. He needs to be more imitative and he needs to be more proficient with ADL (Average Daily Living) functions.

I was actually happy about the case manager and the two therapists who came over. For 30 mins the little guy just cried trying to see if he can crack them up and get his way. After that he warmed up and they went ahead and did the activities to further assess him. I like the fact that they left us a handbook to explain their company policies and the requirements. Along with that they asked for a notebook, it will be a progress book. Every time the therapists will come over they will write down what happened and what the kid was able to accomplish.

This morning, the little guy managed to say the word “car” as he was coaxed by the case manager. So I was very pleased. He was also babbling the entire day. Another thing that we were very pleased is that while we (mom, me and the kiddo), were at the grocery he did something that really amazed us. While he was inside the cart along with the items we were buying, mom asked him to pick up the item he’s using for bathing. And the little guy picked up the J&J milk bath refill and kissed it. In the afternoon, after he peed and when we were getting ready to leave for an afternoon walk and a trip to the grocery, I got a diaper from the cabinet and gave it to him. I then instructed him to hold it and go to the other room and hand it over to his granny who will put it on him. And he obliged. I’m really ecstatic. :)

He is Mighty to Save

Yesterday I went to church after more than 3 months of not being able to attend Sunday Service. It felt like coming home once again. During the praise and worship, I couldn’t hold back my tears when the song Mighty to Save started playing. We’ve been praying for the Lord to turn things around, for us, for our family in all aspects.

I feel so tired sometimes. In fact, I feel that I’m about to slip into depression. Sometimes I just want to give up, there are even times when I ask what I got myself into. But then I felt God’s reassuring love yesterday when the band sang this song.

Home based businesses

entreprenuer mag philsI bought a copy of this magazine last year in my quest for a home based business idea.  The magazine’s issue featured successful home based businesses. However, my copy of this magazine was gone because of Typhoon Ketsana.

I finally found this issue of Entrepreneur magazine! Thanks to Filbars for back issues. Yeah did you see Problogging on the list? It seems that a number of bloggers, who might write about anything from fashion to music or Party Poker, have already been able to turn their blogging into a money-making venture. That’s exactly what I intend to do. Will read that tonight for inspiration.

Green leafy vegetables

greensMom and I are loading up on greens this coming week. Eating meat all the time should also be avoided. Vegetables are a good source of fiber, colon and body cleanse essentials that we should have lots of for a healthy diet and a regular bowel movement. Lately a lot of famous and ordinary people are being diagnosed with colon cancer. Help yourself cut back on medication costs, try to eat more greens. ;)
