A great way to relax after a stressful work week is to chill out and have fun with family and friends at Marriott Hotel’s Velocity Sports Bar. The facility boasts about being the first of its kind in the country. True to its claim of being a five star sports bar, Velocity is capable of accommodating 250 pax at any given time. What’s even more impressive aside from its modern interior design, are the multiple large LCD screens that provides better viewing. Sports enthusiasts are sure to enjoy their stay here. In fact, Velocity featured its first exciting sporting event during the Pacquiao vs. Clottey fight last week. Read more…

Sticking to a diet… sell me some discipline

scaleStepping on the weighing scale is something that dreads me every time for the past two and half years. After giving birth, I made a pact with myself time and time again that I will get back in shape and have my pre-pregnancy weight at 98lbs. Despite trying out different diets and even resorting to self induced vomiting at times, I still find myself off from my desired weight. I’ve written about the No Rice formula that I’ve tried – it’s one of the diets that work effectively well. But my problem now, is really motivation in sticking to the diet and discipline in resisting sweets and delicious food. Add to that having discipline in working out. I just have so many excuses.

Somebody sell me some discipline! Any suggestions on how I could motivate myself to lose weight?

Catching up on CSI Vegas

csiThere are so many detective shows in tv these days, but nothing beats what started it all – CSI Vegas. I used to be a big fan of the said show since my hubby got me hooked on the said show. I think the other shows are good, of course including the CSI clones – New York and Miami, but my favorite remains to be Vegas.

Four or five years ago, I not only got hooked in watching the show because of the interesting cases, I guess the detective genes from my parents had to do with it. You see  my mom and dad met in college. They were classmates and they took up BS Criminology. I used to think it was gruesome, and well watching the show not only re-affirms that notion of mine. But well, I guess with the show featuring modern day gadgets and equipments that helps in extracting and processing pieces of evidence from the crime scene, somehow I managed to understand how my folks got interested in taking up such a course. I could imagine that crime scene investigation is beyond tedious back then.

Seriously, I thought of going back to school to take up the said course. But then again I decided against it because of monetary concerns and because I feel that the colleges and universities offering the said course here in Manila still has a lot of things to improve on. People in first world countries are more fortunate to have actually good universities that offer criminal justice degrees. I think it’s absolutely cool to be a CSI! Dang if only I could afford to study in the US for it. I guess I’ll just have to settle for watching these tv series at home. After all, I might actually chicken out when faced with a cadaver.

Will do a CSI Vegas marathon over the weekend. ;)

Clues about the prize of my first Blog contest

clues

Yes you read that right, I’m having a blog contest. :) I already talked to my husband concerning this contest. Honestly, he has some reservations about it at first. First and foremost, we don’t have sponsors, at the same time, like me, he is very much tempted to have the “prize” installed in our living room since the heat is just too punishing these days. The said thing used to be in our bedroom, but since we got a blessing – God gave us a new unit from my brother-in-law last year, we opted to use the new one. So our old unit is just gathering dust in our backyard. Although we badly wanted to have it installed in the living room, we decided against it. Why? Because we already have 2 that we use regularly, adding another one would mean a skyrocketing electric bill. So there, I managed to convince my hubby to give it away. Watch out for the mechanics coming up  very soon. ;)

Meanwhile, here are two clues about the prize (as if you don’t already know what it is)

1.) to help you have cold summer nights and days

2.) 1HP

Alright, there you have it! So keep checking my blog for info on the mechanics, first couple of people to leave entries will be given hefty points. :)

Nostalgic at 5am…

nostalgia

Over the past few days, I’ve been feeling rather nostalgic. An ordinary day-to-day object sparks a memory from some years ago and I find myself lost in thought, thinking of things and people who came in and out of my life. Those who stayed, who left and those I decided to push away.

I suddenly find myself reading through old blog entries, reminiscing and wondering at the same time. I guess I’m just plain hormonal. Anyway, I leave you with a good read, one of my favorite short stories from way back college – The Dead Stars.

Malunggay: inexpensive yet effective anti acne solution

malunggay leaves

Previously, Malunggay leaves are only thought of to help breast-feeding moms with their milk production. But through much research, the said plant is now hailed for a lot of things in relation to good health. In fact, last year I joined Vitaplus when a fellow blogger – Sexynomad, attests that the said drink that is made up of the said plant and other greens, helped her lose weight. Okay so I’m still a little over my desired weight. Nonetheless, the reason I’m raving about the said plant now is because of how it recently helped me with my acne problem. Read more…

Busy Cross-stitching

Aside from mommy duties and house chores, something else is keeping me busy from checking my blog, blog-hopping and posting entries. I recently tried my hand again on cross stitching. I’m currently working on a wedding pattern, hopefully I finish it in time for my cousin’s wedding on March 26. Personalized gifts are always heart warming and a joy to have. I really hope I finish it in time. This is how it’s going to look like when it’s done.
