Smoking is dangerous to your health, this is printed on cigarette boxes. And yet despite the warning people smoke anyway. I live with a smoker – my husband. There had been many occasions when he promised to kick off the habit, but failed. Hopefully, this time around he will be able to follow through with his promise. I’m pretty sure the dangers outlined are the same if you consider tobacco smoking like macanudo. Although from what I know there are greater risks involved when one is smoking tobacco.
- Cancer – Most deaths caused by smoking is due to cancer. Cancers often associated with smoking are lung cancer, larynx cancer, esophagus and bladder cancer.
- Other lung problems and breathing problems like emphysema and bronchitis to name a few.
- Heart disease – smoking is one of the biggest factor attributed to high blood pressure and heart attacks. It is said that certain components of cigarettes and tobacco causes the narrowing of arteries, thereby decreasing the supply of oxygen in the heart.
- Poororal hygiene – this one is one that grosses me out the most, it’s like actually kissing an ashtray. For my husband I require him to not only thoroughly brush his teeth but to also use an intensive mouth wash before going to bed or before coming any close to me and my son.
Those are just some of the many ill effects of smoking, which still does not list the effects to second hand smokers and the environment. Hopefully my husband quits for good come my birthday.
