THINGS YOUR HUSBAND OR MALE PARTNER SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO

Handy Man figure2Having a man in the house, and a man that can fix a lot of things, is something that is priceless. Personally, I think this is something that you need to consider when looking for a mate. Okay before, you go any further, please take note of the word personally in the previous sentence. :) I do not mean to impose or sound like a know it all, just writing down my thoughts. In the same way that guys are looking for certain skills (cooking, sewing, cleaning etc.) and other things when looking for a good catch, I think it’s pretty fair to have the same thing for girls.

  • Carpentry – It will be very bothersome to have to call a carpenter every time something needs fixing at home, like changing a door knob, drilling a hole to put a curtain rod, etc. These little things should not be too hard for the man of the house.
  • Plumbing – Basic plumbing issues like changing a leaky faucet is something even a teenage guy could work on, so there should be no need to call a plumber. All it takes anyway is a water sealant.
  • A little know how and problem-solving skills in the field of electricity is also essential. Changing a fuse, or finding out what’s wrong with the circuit breaker should not be that difficult for your skillful partner.
  • Computer skills – For this one I give my husband a 2 thumbs up. Even friends and extended family call on him when they need their trusty computers to be fixed. Even if my husband is a Business Administration major, he could fix a computer and build one just like any other techy guy out there.
  • Auto-mechanic skills should come in very handy as well. You do not want to be stuck with a guy doesn’t even know how to change a flat tire.

Anything you’d like to add? :)

well it’s great that if the guy is a handy man but he should also know when to give up or ask help if he cant do it anymore. anyways, i think a good thing to add here is that he should be willing to do some household chores for a man, like taking out the garbage or other stuff.

    nice post!,

Ha! I’m a bad catch. I can’t cook. I only know how to clean, sew and some noobish programming skills (which is kinda pointless at home, but whatever). XD

What if it’s the other way around? Like the guy’s the one who cooks, cleans and sew stuff? XD

well, dapat lang talaga na magaling yung guy partner sa mga bagay na sinabi mo. And i think we guys were good at it. That’s human nature :) )

@ anthony – true, but suprisingly, some guys are just really not skilled in those areas.
