WEIGHT LOSS TIPS FROM IZZIE

Izzie is my husband’s colleague at his previous and current employment. She used to be overweight. Two months ago, I learned that she is undergoing detoxification. The process was something that was imposed on her by her dad. I actually wanted to go through the same thing but it is quite expensive so I guess I’ll pass. Anyway looking at Izzie’s current picture, you could tell right away she lost more or less 30 lbs. When I asked her for quick weight loss tips, here are the things that she told me:

  • Eat healthy – an effective diet is one that involves a change lifestyle. Opting for green leafy vegetables and fruits rich in fiber is something that we are bound to benefit from in the long run. Checking out food labels to find out the calorie content, fat content and saturated fat content of the food that you buy should also be helpful. Although you might want to read up on it more.
  • Walk – if you’re going short distances or only 2 or 3 floors up or down, ditch the elevator and escalator. Taking the stairs or walking a short distance helps you burn a few calories.
  • Fast – this one is something I’m actually contemplating. I’m thinking if I can do it. Izzie fasted for a full one week, taking only water. God help me!

I’m actually writing this more for myself dear readers. hehe When I get to do the first 2 on a consistent pace and the last one, I’ll probably post a pic of before and after. :)

Fast?! That was something I cannot do :D

    Good Luck!

ugh oh.. sorry but my license dictates me to share my 2 cents worth about fasting… nothing’s wrong with eating healthy and walking but fasting for a week with only water intake, did your friend went on a hunger strike for a cause or something? seriously, one might suffer from electrolyte and nutritional imbalances that could lead to serious medical complications. try to contemplate more and seek medical advice from your family MD before subjecting your precious self to any regimen.

  3. I don’t think I can do the fasting thing. I love my food too much hehe but there was a point this summer that, while I didn’t diet consciously, I didn’t want to eat anything. I just wanted water, water, water. Effective I think, as I lost a couple of pounds in a week or so. But I agree with docgelo. Consult a doctor first before anything else. Good luck on the weight loss regimen!

  4. Also, si TL Izzie ba ito?! Wah! I miss her.

@docgelo – she said she was told to do so by the same people her dad had hired to do her detox program. but yeah you have a very valid point. I actually think I’m not brave enough to attempt such feat.
