The word became pretty popular in Facebook since the option became available to technically “unfriend” or remove someone from your friends list in the said social networking site. The act of cutting ties and burning bridges with someone who used to be dear to us (whether in a platonic or a romantic way), is nothing new. It happens all the time, as people say.

In my younger, immature days, I would opt to unfriend somebody, even if the reason is somewhat petty. Fortunately, God made a way to bring these people back into my life. We’ve all grown up and reconnected and decided to renew our ties. Now that I am older and my years have somehow made me wise, I have decided to unfriend someone in order to follow an advice from a song I like way back in college – Sunscreen. Well, it really is not a song if you listen to it, it’s just a narration of a man’s simple pieces of advice with a background music playing along as he gives out his insight on various things.
