I was listening to the local news yesterday afternoon when I heard that the price for a kilo of sugar went up again. Everything seems to getting more expensive – gas, electricity, tuition fees, life insurance rate etc. That’s why the thought of going somewhere else where there is a better standard of living is becoming even more enticing.
I talked to my manager last week and she’s complaining about her daughter’s college education plan. Her daughter’s tuition fee is roughly 50grand for each semester, and the only thing she can get from the educational plan is PhP15,000. Well sure, that’s still a lot of help. But what upsets her is the fact that her mother-in-law bought the said policy because she was told that 80% of the tuition will be shouldered by the company later on. But then again, the company blames it on inflation for not being able to follow through their commitment. Somehow, my manager as well as their other plan holders will just have to be grateful that the company has not completely closed shop, like the other insurance companies out there.
