Gadgets and Tech’s First Annual Phone Raffle Contest

I’ve been wanting to get a new phone for myself for quite some time now. The hubby gave me a hand me down phone that he recently bought, but then again, I still wanted a new phone, with great features and good functions. And that’s why I was ecstatic to find out that Gadgets and Tech is raffling a Samsung Phone. I’ve had a Samsung phone before and I liked it. Aside from Nokia and Ericsson, Samsung is another favorite brand of mine when it comes to mobile phones. So I really hope, I win in this raffle. :)

Feel like joining as well? Well, hurry up because Gadget and Tech’s First Annual Phone Raffle Contest is about to end in half an hour. Please click the link to find out how to join.

Good luck to all of us who’ll join.

Too many books… too little time

My list of books to read is starting to pile up again. To start off, I’ve had very little progress in terms of trying to finish Dan Brown’s – The Lost Symbol. On top of that, my sales unit manager is letting me borrow her Twilight series books which we all know consists of 4 huge books. I also have another book from my dad that I’m trying to read. And the new titles I like in addition to my old list (which roughly has 15 books)  are as follows: Lost dogs and Lonely Hearts, Love who you’re with, The Outliers, Blink (our old copy became a victim of Ondoy), the Tipping Point, The Last Song, Dear John, Shutter Island and well so much more. And the list goes on. Have to really resist dropping by a bookstore to prevent myself from looking around and adding more titles to that list.

Busted iPod

My iPod video which was given to me my uncle during their brief vacation here last year gave up on me already. Hubby tried his best to revive the poor thing but he said it’s already the hard drive that has a problem. The problem with having to bring it to the Mac center is that, that unit doesn’t have a warranty, since it was bought in the US. And I guess that’s going the be the same predicament I’d face if ever my cousins would give me one of their old iPhones. Repairs here are pretty expensive unlike if your unit is bought locally, which of course entitles you to an iPhone warranty.

Oh well, I guess it’ll be better to settle for my Cherry mobile phone then. :)

Grand celebration marks Avida Towers Global City launch

Aside from a beautiful wedding which every couple is entitled to have, one of the basic things that a couple would have to save up for is a home. Ideally, before starting a family, it is best to have a home to call your own. No one would like to live for the rest of their lives in a rented home, where the rent goes up every so often and when you are restricted in terms of making modifications on the house. On top of that, once a couple have kids, there would be a long list of things to pay for and save up for. So it is really ideal to have a home immediately after marriage.

Some of the basic things you need to consider when choosing where to live would be the location. It is best to live within a stone’s throw away from good hospitals, good schools, malls and of course, your place of work. Living in a home situated right in the middle of all these things truly spells out a good work-life balance. It is the same notion that Avida, an Ayala company, has in mind when they came up with their Avida Towers project in the Fort Global City.

============================================================================================

Avida Land Corp. recently marked another milestone with the launch of Avida Towers Global City, its first foray into one of the country’s most sought after addresses.

Sex in the City 2

Haven’t watched the said movie, but I intend to. It’s all about girl power and feeling good about yourself anyways, which I badly need at the moment. I wasn’t really a fan of Sex in the City series, but I got to watch a handful of episodes in the past. I haven’t even got the chance to watch the first movie, since most friends who are avid fans of the series said it was pretty disappointing. But I guess I’ll download it just the same, just so the second movie will make more sense to me.

I feel that it took them quite a while to come up with the second movie. Besides, a friend of mine got scared after watching the second movie, seeing the wrinkles and the lines of some of the lead characters faces. After the movie she bought the best anti wrinkle face cream she can afford. Looks like I’ll be doing the same in a few days time, now that I’m about to say hello again to looooonng work hours. But before that, I’ll do a movie marathon and one of the movies on my list is Sex in the City 2. :)

FIRST-LOOK IMAGE FROM DREAMWORKS’ “REAL STEEL”

In this first-look photo from DreamWorks Pictures’ “Real Steel,” which began shooting live-action scenes recently, Hugh Jackman isn’t throwing the punches — the guy to the left is.

The movie, directed by Shawn Levy (“Date Night”), imagines a world in which human boxing is non-existent, replaced by leagues of mechanized pugilists. It’s expected to arrive in theaters in November 2011.

“The moment of walking in and seeing these robots, my jaw was on the floor,” Jackman said. That’s because the robot in this image is a real device, not a digital visual effect. Read more…

Working on a New Blog

I still have another blog that I need to work on, something more to do with fitness. Although I have projectprettyandfab.info to document my steps in getting back in shape and pre-pregnancy look, I have another blog that will be more focused in weight loss diet. I already have a first post up for drafting since I bought something for weight loss that I wanted to try. The only problem I have right now is the time to actually do it, since I have to be able to do all my online stuff while the little boy is asleep, otherwise, he’d see me with the laptop and he’ll throw a huge tantrum because he’d want his shows. The writing part is not that difficult. What’s tedious is the entire process of setting up, like picking a template, getting widgets and technorati profile and all. Hopefully, I find sometime to do all that real soon.

Donita as Showtime Judge

One of the perks I get from being a stay-at-home mom, is being able to watch TV. As for the shows that we normally don’t miss, on top of the list is Showtime of Channel 2, that airs from Mondays-Saturdays from 10:30am – 12nn. Vice Ganda’s witty remarks and sarcastic comments is one of the biggest reasons for the show’s top ratings. He’s the only judge that could not be voted out the by the public, which he likes to refer to as the “madlang people”. Read more…
