This is perhaps out of season to write this article. But then again, having talked to a friend who recently came back to Manila after being employed in Boracay for almost a year, she’s able to experience pretty much everything Boracay has to offer. And I would just like to keep tab of those things, just in case I get the chance to come back to the island anytime soon. Here are some of them.
- Parasailing or parascending – a recreational activity that will surely delight bigger kids and adult alike. You get towed into a boat while you are on board a specially designed parachute. Be ready to spend roughly $50-$70, depends of course when you are in the island during the peak or off-peak season.
- Banana Boat ride – it is more economical than the parasailing since there are more of you who can split the bill. You ride a banana boat and then get tossed later on. The tossing is the very purpose of riding one. Tried it once, literally. During the 15 minute ride you’re supposed to get tossed and fall in the water several times, but since we’re all afraid, after the first time we unanimously decided to just cruise.
- Flying Fish Ride – pretty much similar to parasailing.
- Try the shake in Jonahs – Your Boracay experience will not be incomplete if you haven’t tried the shakes in Jonahs at station one. It is quite expensive for a shake, that’s my initial thought, but then again after having tried it, I couldn’t go by with a day in the island without having my Jonah’s fill.
- ATV Ride – This will cost you PhP800 per hour per person. I’m not really sure if I’d try it if I get the chance, seeing the price tag attached to the experience. Yeah I’m such a cheapskate!
- Seafood Buffet – try out the buffet in the different hotels and restaurants. You’ll surely enjoy the fresh seafood like crabs, shrimps and other fish that normally costs an arm and a leg here in Manila.
