The Lot

I was looking at our yard and it looks pretty useless.  I wanted to put up a garden but was so busy these days that it would be a waste of time because the plants would die.  Then it hit me, since my son needs a playground, then a playground it will become.

But I do not want to fill it up with plastic monstrosities that you can buy in the mall.  You have to buy them at high prices, then bring the bulky package home, and then assemble it.  Too bad there seems to be no shops selling top commercial playground equipment.  The ones that they use in high class playgrounds.  I wonder where I could buy them.

Sick on a Sunday

image taken from dayrecipe.com

May be I went over the top yesterday by being out the whole day, waking up at 7:30am when I slept at 4am already and getting my ass home at close to midnight. Add to that that I went far down south, which translates to 2 lrt rides, one jeepney ride on the way to SM Southmall and on the way home it means 2 tricycle rides, 2 bus rides and 2 jeepney rides. Oh well but it was all worth it when I saw my dear girls (former reps turned great friends) whom I haven’t seen for 5 years. So as a trade off I’m now sick. I guess I ought to start really living a healthy lifestyle. I’m not getting any younger and so I have to slow down.

Well happy Sunday y’all.

Waiting for a Phone Call

My cousin went to Libya two weeks before all hell broke loose in there. He was deployed there to work as a nurse in a hospital in Tripoli. We were of course happy that he will finally be able to go abroad and work as a nurse as there’s a surplus of registered nurses here and it is extremely difficult to get a job. When he left we were also happy because he left us some of his stuff which became our new toys, like this desk top I’m using right now and his other ipod and blackberry phone. The only thing he didn’t entrust us with was his nikon rifle scope which he left in the care of his girlfriend’s dad who is also a collector of nikon rifles.

The week before last week, he called up his girlfriend to say that they are okay and that he did not sign up for the voluntary evacuation as they are okay. And last week I still had a chance to talk to him via YM and he once again told us he’s okay. Now that Kadafi has issued a warning that they will definitely declare war once the US decides to meddle with the situation it got us all the more worried. And yesterday he called his girlfriend to say that they don’t have internet access again, you could just imagine how worried we are. I just hope things get better and well, as the cliche goes, please help us pray for world peace.
