The heroic dog that hails from the southern part of the Philippines – Kabang, gave birth to a litter of six puppies last month. The dog became a known not only locally but globally because of her selfless act of bracing herself between the kids  and the speeding tricycle, which ultimately caused her major injuries that let to her facial deformities.  She was said to be very protective of her pups and despite her difficulties with the use of her lower snout, she would still try to lick her pups to clean them up.

The international community indeed took notice of this dog’s selfless act and a group of surgeons in California, USA was said to offer a free reconstructive surgery for Kabang. Mang Rudy, Kabang’s owner is said to currently fixing their documents for travel.

Kabang just reinforces the fact that dogs are truly man’s best friend. So we ought to educate people to refrain from being physically abusive towards them, to the point of slaughtering dogs for their meat. After all, dogs are the only creature on earth who will love us more than they love themselves.
