Alright this is another Switched at Birth post, and you just have to put up with me. Yes, I also like the songs that they play in the show as background music, so yes I have a Switched at Birth folder in my playlist. Here are my favorite so far.

• Stranger by Katie Costello – this song was playing when Daphne was trying to different number combinations to open up the guitar case and was baffled to have been able to open it using the number code 229 which stands for Bay. The song is very forlorn and dramatic, and rather apt for the said scene. Read more…

Switched at Birth: The True Story of a Mother’s Journey by Kathryn Kennish

I am a big fan of the TV series Switched at Birth and so it is not surprising that I found myself going gaga over getting a copy of the book when it first came out. For those of you who haven’t seen the show and intends to read the book, I recommend you watch the show first before reading the book, as it will make the book more alive and compelling. While most tv shows first came in book form and was later on made into a show, this one is the reverse. The TV show came out first and in the the story, one of the mothers of the girls that were switched at birth decided to make a memoir about this life altering experience.

My husband and I have been a couple for more than a decade now and within that twelve years, he has promised me numerous times that he will quit smoking, only to fail miserably every time. But now that he finally got to try electric cigarettes, he finally had the chance to say goodbye to tar and nicotine.
