THE SERAPH SEAL BY LEONARD SWEET AND LORI WAGNER BOOK REVIEW

The Seraph SealThe Seraph Seal by Leonard Sweet

My rating: 1 of 5 stars

The Seraphy Seal revolves around the prophecies and mysteries in the Bible depicting how the last days leading towards the Armageddon. I loved Tim La Haye and Jerry Jenkin’s Left Behind Series and was wanting to compare how the Seraph Seal will fare in terms of consistency, interpretation and story line, so I decided to request for an ebook copy from Booksneeze.com.

The story starts with the birth of the key characters in the story which was set in our current year – 2012 and then later on fast forwards to year 2048. Given that the setting is too futuristic, it is rather amusing to note that technology by that time will indeed be very much progressive and advanced, which is also downright frightening.

Here are the things I like about the book: Read more…

CAN’T FINISH SENSE AND SENSIBILITY

This is how I always end up whenever I try to make progress with my reading, only when it comes to Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility. I’ve started reading it way back the start of the year but can’t seem to really finish it. I started reading it only because I fell in love with Anne Hathaway’s movie – “Becoming Jane”, Read more…

THOUGHTS ABOUT NICHOLAS SPARKS AND HIS NOVELS

I just finished watching the movie adaptation of one of Nicholas Sparks‘ novel – The Last Song starring Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth. While there is a love story angle still, the story focuses more on Ronnie ‘s (Miley Cyrus) relationship with her father (Greg Kinnear), who took them in for the summer. Apparently, the father and daughter had a lot of rebuilding to do, as her parents’ divorce caused her to be bitter towards her father. To cut the long story short, the father eventually died with cancer. Prior to his death, he and his daughter were able to finally make amends and she finished the last piece that his father was trying to compose. Read more…

LOVING BLUE FIRE EBOOK READER

Lately, I’ve really made quite a progress when it comes to my reading both with my daily devotionals and Bible reading as well as my reading projects. The last time I’ve been this productive when it comes to reading would be way back 2005 when I think I’ve read about 20 books for the said year. When I got married and got pregnant, it was rather easy to give in to the temptation of watching tv series since it is one of my husband’s favorite past times. Much of my progress in reading I have to attribute to having an ebook reader, more specifically Blue Fire Ebook Reader. Read more…

Secrets of the Vine: Breaking Through to AbundanceSecrets of the Vine: Breaking Through to Abundance by Bruce Wilkinson

Secrets of the Vine: Breaking Through to Abundance is beyond a beautiful read. I thank the Lord for this book, in the same way I am grateful for the Mr. Wilkinson’s other book – The Prayer of Jabez. The spiritual truths and insights in this book has been instrumental in making me learn about what it is like to break through from daily routines and devotions that feel rather empty and more of a chore in the past. THE WEDDING DRESS BY RACHEL HAUCK BOOK REVIEW

The Wedding DressThe Wedding Dress by Rachel Hauck

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

The Wedding Dress is a tale of four women connected by a lovely wedding dress that was first worn a century ago – that in itself is enough to get me interested in the book. So after reading the Hunger Games series which is rather very action-packed, I guess I was ready for something rather light and feel good. Read more…
