BOOKSALE LOOT

Last Friday I went to Booksale in Robinson’s Metroeast to find out if there’s still any Cecilia Ahern book that I could get my hands into. It was last Sunday that I went there and found Ahern’s Thank You for the Memories. I have the money right there but would like to get it the following day because I already went over my budget for the day, besides, I’m not sure what time my salary will be credited and so I opted not to get it. I have a rather disappointing conversation with 2 of their sales ladies, let’s just leave it at that.

I then went back last Friday and was glad that I found another book from Cecilia Ahern – If You Could See Me Now. And I got it for a whopping price of P145.00!!!! Sweet right?! Totally!

THE LOST SYMBOL BY DAN BROWN BOOK REVIEW

The Lost Symbol (Robert Langdon, #3)The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

To be completely honest, I’m still not able to make up my mind about this book. Sure I like the fact that as any typical Dan Brown book, this one kept me reading way past my bed time. Dan Brown is very wise as to make the chapters really manageable to read (like one or two pages) so the reader ends up promising himself that he would read just one more chapter before inserting the bookmark and putting off the book. READ ‘EM AND WEEP LYRICS – ELUSIVE SONG FROM SWITCHED AT BIRTH

I have been on the look out for this song since I heard it on Switched at Birth. It has a very catchy melody, and the sound of the guitar strings is very soothing.  To be precise this song was used in Switched at Birth Season 1 Episode 22 and 25. Read more…

Nashville takes the spotlight on beTV this February

“With an impeccable cast and tons of talents behind the camera, Nashville could be one of those huge grown-up soaps that hook viewers for years.” -Hollywoodreporter.com

image003-1

If there’s one show y’all have to check out, make it Nashville. The premise of the aurally pleasing series is an uncanny reflection of the music industry – a country music legend, Rayna James (Connie Britton, Friday Night Lights), is being eased out of the charts after 20 years in the spotlight by the next big thing, Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere, Heroes). What probably rubs Rayna the wrong way, is her record label’s insistence on organizing a co-headlining tour with Juliette, to bring up her numbers; and how even Rayna’s kids themselves are bobbing to the pop-oriented songs of her young, sexy and fame-hungry rival. ILLUSORY LIGHT BY SARAH BLASKO

I found this song because it was the background music in one of the episodes of Switched at Birth in season 2. It was I think on the second or third episode where Emmett is asking Bay about why they are not together, said it was painful for him to be with her and not be with her. So when Bay said that friendship is all she could handle right now, Emmett said he’ll just see her around and that he cannot be friends with her. Really lovely song, nice melody and catchy lyrics. Check out the lyrics below if you feel like singing along.
