Fishing for some Me Time

Peace and quiet.  Living in an urban jungle, it’s hard to get that even for at least once a week.  The hustle and bustle on the metro on a daily basis would really take its toll on you.  Even some nearby sanctuaries would also be jampacked come weekends or holidays.  I guess everyone really looks for their own retreat once in a while.  My husband always says he wants to try out fishing.  He was able to do some little fishing when he went to Cavite with his friends.  He said it was really calm and peaceful.  Well he does have a point.  But he then started to look for bass fishing clothing.  Then I said that he does not need that for some peace and quiet.  He said its for safety, and he does not want to look like a fool trying to fish.  I guess we have our own definition of retreat.  His way involves some shopping.  Sheesh.

Flooding in Queensland Australia

It was devastating to see the video footages and photographs of the recent flooding in Australia. Last time I read the news 78 were missing/dead, it is not unlikely that it has already went up by now. It only goes to show that despite the fact that Australia is a first-world country, they are not exempted to these kind of calamities. Death and natural disasters are indeed great equalizers.

Now the question is, what do we do about it. Flooding and earthquakes are happening left and right and climate change is advancing at a pace that is rather too alarming. We are truly in the brink of a climate change. I say, people should really start thinking about the environment. Plastic production should be slowed down to prevent non-biodegradable wastes, recycle, re-forestation and do more green study to help save the environment. These calamities is Mother Nature’s way of reaching out to us and telling us that we need to do something, it is its cry for help.  Let’s all respond to that call.
