Diet Failed…yet again

I lost weight already which is good and I know that because I felt my jeans loosen up, I could fit into some of my pre-pregnancy clothes once more. But then again, ever since the husband went back, the weight started coming back just as well. Which reminds me that I have to start working out again and resume my intake of Orlistat. While I am initially satisfied with how the Alli brand is working on me, I am actually considering going for a different brand name next time. I’m actually thinking if I’d go for Xenical or Lesofat next time. It’s just darn hard to look for the fastest working weight loss pills, especially when there’s just so many brands out there.

Any suggestions?

Dr. Tam Mateo

image taken from deathtomycreditcards.blogspot.com

Two Sundays ago, I got the chance to watch Salamat Doc – a local TV program, that features doctors, nutritionists and other medical practitioners and gives the audience a chance to do a Q&A at the end of the show. One of the things that caught my attention and prevented me from switching channels, was when Dr. Tam Mateo started talking. He is a Naturopathologist and was the one of the pioneers in his area here in the Philippines. A lot of people attest to his methods, mostly previous cancer patients, who got cured completely just by changing their eating habbits. According to Dr. Mateo, there are a lot of benefits of eating greens and actually eating raw vegetables. Now, I’m actually very fond of eating veggies, but I kinda have reservations when it comes to eating it raw, since I’m pretty sure my sense of taste will most likely object to it. Nonetheless, I think I like what I saw and read so far, so I’m going to attend his seminar perhaps sometime next month.

For those who may also be interested, you may want to get in touch with them through the numbers on the pic posted. They have a variety of products like juices, vitamins, teas and perhaps even colon cleansing pills.

HerbaLife

image taken from harfordvelo.org

Last week while I was at the gym doing my cardio exercise, I saw one woman who was mixing a herbalife shake, she even has a blender with her. Her other friends drank as well, it seems that she is selling it. Then while I was changing, after my work out,  I see flyers inside the dressing area. I’m guessing it was from the same lady. It’s a Herbalife flyer complete with basic information about a healthy breakfast and weight loss success stories from those who’ve tried the said product. It is so enticing when you see the pictures that goes with their testimonials. Perhaps one of these days, I might just give her a call. :)

Alli Orlistat

I’ve been using Orlistat Alli for more than a month now. I found it on 50% sale in Mercury Drug about 2 months ago. The said brand is much cheaper than Xenical, although I’m not sure about Lesofat. I initially had hesitations but when I saw that it is from Glaxo Smith Kline, I went ahead and gave it a try.

In this day and age when we all are becoming accustomed to a very sedentary lifestyle, sometimes it helps to use fat burning pills. This one is particularly useful especially when your diet is mostly made up of fatty foods. One thing I like about this brand is that it also comes with a meal plan, which I have to start following soon.

There are some who make use of diet pills as well, more like the appetite suppresants. I still have some reservations at the moment but perhaps when I get a good review from someone I personally know, I might just give it a try. Sometimes it’s not really reliable to go online to read about which diet pills work best. Well, having said that, I guess some of you might not find this post entirely reliable, given that you do not know me personally. hehe

Fasting and Detox

image taken from whollyroamincatholic.com

Lately, I’ve been hearing a lot of fuss about detox and fasting. In fact, in one of the events I went to a couple of months back, the spa has a detox consultant. I kinda wanted to try it out, if only I wasn’t dirt poor back then. Since more and more people are becoming conscious about their health, more than their image, more people are starting to resort to fasting and detoxification, to prevent increasing health risks. Health risks brought about by unhealthy lifestyle, pollution and stress. I wanted to get a book about doing a detox treatment right at home, but in the end, I chickened out because I wanted to consult with a doctor first prior to doing it. At the same time, add to that the price tag that comes along with the book which made me drop the thought altogether. Perhaps I’ll just research it online so I can likewise read reviews of good detox treatments and how to fast the safe way.

No Guarantees

Life has no guarantees. No amount of insurance can make anything in your life absolutely certain. Although in most cases it still helps to do so. Even if you live in a first world country where your taxes work for you, it helps to have a health insurance. And all the more if you live in a third world country like the Philippines where your taxes goes to politicians pockets and where most government employees are rude and totally devoid of customer service skills.
Here in the Philippines good health insurance providers are Medicard and Maxicare. I think they’re the closest to Blue Advantage. Caritas Health Shield also has good and affordable terms for health policies.
Anyway, if you have kids it is best to have a good health insurance both for you and your family.

RELIEVE MIGRAINE PAIN

image taken from stylishandtrendy.com

Having migraine is a complete bummer! It takes quite a while before the pain goes away, in fact, in my case, I have to be able to completely sleep it off to get rid of the pain. I wasn’t aware that that throbbing pain is migraine, that a mere change in lighting or extremely loud noises triggers it. To make matters worse, I developed an allergic reaction to almost all sorts of over-the-counter pain relievers like Mefanamic acid, Ibuprofen and even Paracetamol. So how do I counter the pains of migraine? Well, below are the things that I do.

  • I turn the AC on and turn off the lights to make the room conducive for sleep. In the event that it’s broad day light, I try to put sunglasses on
  • Take a tablet of Tylenol.
  • I try to massage my scalp and put pressure on my temples.
  • Use aromatic oils like lavander, to all the more make myself sleepy.
  • When I have the money, I’d normally opt for a home massage.

All methods are guaranteed to make you sleep. :)

Maic’s Gym Marikina

My resolution to go back to boxing starts next week. And yep I’m going back to Maic’s Gym. I am not impressed by upscale gyms and I would never opt to go there just as a form of status symbol.

Maic’s Gym is located in Marikina.  Along Marcos highway, you will see Robinson’s Metro East and you just have to take the over pass to coross to the side of Fiesta Villa. Just walk straight ahead on that street perpendicular to Marcos highway. Shortly after the basketball court you’ll see the gym. They have totally affordable rates and surprisingly good facility. You’ll be impressed as well with their cardio work out machines and their weight lifting equipments and other exercise basics like rowing machines, pull up bar, stationary bikes etc.

The second floor is an area dedicated to aerobics and boxing. Oh and you’d be surprised that they also have an oval!

I can’t find their contact number, but I’m sure you can find it in their facebook account.
