SM NORTH EDSA’S SANTA’S TOWN THEME

The holidays is no doubt upon us – the cool evening breeze, the fascinating Christmas lights and Christmas decors, as well as the frantic and inevitable holiday rush. Along with the season comes the tiring task of shopping for gifts. The good news is, while mom and perhaps dad are busy crossing out items in their holiday gift list, moving from one boutique to another, the kids can while away the time with the older siblings or their care givers by checking out the picturesque Santa’s Village that SM North EDSA has set up in their sky park.

There are a lot of things to see in the North Pole village. The huge kissing Mr and Mrs Claus along EDSA clues you in on the picturesque North Pole village that SM North EDSA has brought together for you. These attractions are bound to be a hit for both kids and kids-at-heart alike. Read more…

ALL SAINT’S DAY TRADITION AND WHAT I THINK ABOUT IT

All Saint’s Day is widely celebrated in the Philippines. As tradition dictates, families would head to the cemetery to light a candle and say a prayer for loved ones who died. But do you actually know what’s the purpose of lighting a candle? Have you ever wondered why it has been customary to light a candle in observance of this holiday?

Getting Rid of the Unwanted Pounds

Christmas is nearing, and so is the much awaited Noche Buena here in the Philippines.

Noche Buena is the Christmas dinner done here in the Philippines.  For my family, this is also the biggest feast of the year.  Everything that we love in on the table.  We have hams, chicken, pork, beef, fish, 3 kinds of desserts, and different kinds of Filipino sweets you can think of.  That only means one thing, most of us will be ten pounds heavier after the season is over.

So how do we shed off these excess pounds as easily as we got them.  Well you can try exercising everyday for one month.  Good luck with that.  You can also try fat burning supplements like Lipofuze which promises to help you burn fat faster.  For me, I think I will just watch what I eat.  It would be better to control the urge rather than pay for it later on.

Black Friday: How to maximize

It’s that time of the year again where people from all walks of life gather together to help boost their country’s economy by spending  more than 300% of what they normally would.  Well, it’s Christmas and it only happens once a year.

Anyways, my husband does not necessarily hate shopping.  He just hates all the people.  There are three things he hates about shopping: 1) Walking forever in a mall full of people, 2) standing in line full of people, and 3) looking for a parking space in a lot full of people’s cars.  Three out of three for him during Black Friday, and basically every payday weekend.

But knowing him, he always plans ahead.  I always wonder how he gets in and out of a crowded mall during rush shopping days.  When he says he’s buying something in a mall, he takes half the time to buy what he wants.  He told me that the one big difference between me and him is that I go to the mall and look for what I want while he looks for it before he goes to the mall.  He researches online for the best item, say a video game.  He researched on what good games are out, where to find it, which store or branch it’s available and sometimes reserves it.

Well, I can’t do it no matter how I try. I love the hunt. I am a girl, it’s in my DNA. =)

Crazy Christmas Shopping

It’s finally going to be Christmas next week and people are trooping to the malls and bazaars to cross out items in their holiday shopping list.

And speaking of shopping list, my husband has one more item he wanted to cross out on his list. He wants home theater speakers to go with our new LED TV. With how every mall is filled with busy shoppers all the time, it looks like he’ll get to cross that one out on his list long after Christmas, knowing how allergic he is when it comes to going to public places swarming with people during the holidays.

As for me, I’ll be happy if my Santa drops a new IPOD Nano on my lap.  ;)
