GRANDMA NEEDS A NEW MATTRESS

My mom has been complaining about the current mattress that she is using. It’s not yet over a year when we got that, courtesy of my cousin, but then again since it’s inexpensive and not branded, it is expected that it is likewise not that durable. I guess we have to take the trip to the department store soon to get her a new one. At her age she also needs an ergonomic one. Oh and if we get her a new one, that means we ought to get my dad, as well. Oh well, I wish I can buy three sets of memory mattresses, then we’d all be happy.

DREAMING OF A BATHROOM MAKEOVER

Aside from having a bath tub, where I could take leisure baths, I actually wanted to reinvent my lavatory. This one is rather very nice. Yeah, stone sinks are quite in these days. Most five-star hotels and homes of the rich and famous are decked with lovely stone sinks nowadays. Take a look at one that I found while I was surfing. What do you think? Very posh, eh? Oh well, I can dream can’t I?

Pressure washing instead of repainting

Pressure washing is something that is not very known in the Philippines. I read about it sometime last week when I chanced upon an ad of Seattle pressure wash services somewhere in some website. I just thought that it would be nice  if the said service is also available in the Philippines. After all, it would be cheaper compared to having your entire house repainted after, say, every 5 years or so. The thought came to me since most of our neighbors have recently started repainting their gates and their walls. I guess it was because of the tell-tale signs made by the flooding caused by Typhoon Ketsana.

Now back to the washing services. Aside from the savings you can get from opting for a pressure wash service instead of repainting, what I find interesting is that the said company is makes use of what they call green power wash technology.  Basically, it means that they make use of non-toxic chemicals as cleaning solutions. Aside from that, they immediately reuse the water for spraying and vacuum purposes, thereby conserving water. Hopefully, the same service be available here sometime in the future. Oh, and another impressive thing about the said website and well, most american service companies, is the fact that you can readily get an estimate in their site to give you a ballpark figure of what your costs will be.

So, was I able to convince you that it’s really a good idea to opt for pressure washing instead of repainting? :)

All about Stairs

If you are a personal friend or if you have been reading my blog, you know that we were victims of the Typhoon Ondoy and the flooding it created. We live in a bungalow house owned by my uncle, which we are renting. And after the Ondoy incident, we realized just how important it is to have a second floor, and well i guess it wont be bad to have a third floor as well.

In line with that, here’s some pretty cool staircases. Got this from a forwarded email from a former staff of mine.
