Online Jobs

image taken from onlinepassiveincome.com

There’s so many websites out there claiming to be the ultimate source for quality and legit online jobs, but we need to be careful in investing time and effort as there are so many scammers out there. For one I was duped by AW Surveys! I was made to sign up by the site’s admins into different survey sites like Surveyheads.com which i believe they also own. Claiming that each survey will be paid and I wasted my time and dsl and electricity filling up those surveys all for nothing. These are Indian companies that are after your email address and other information.

Other sites (I forgot already) promises to pay you in exchange for favorable reviews on their products. I didn’t try it though. When I saw they are soliciting for an male enhancement review, I automatically had doubts.

If you are looking into working at home and earning online income, try looking for jobs at Odesk, Elance, Freelancer.org and well sometimes Craigslist. These sites work pretty much like eBay. Users, whether employers or freelancers, are given feedback by those who worked with them. Try to go for those that have a lot of  positive feedback so you’ll have an assurance that you’ll get paid. Good luck on your hunt and wish me luck just the same!

Good Business Ideas

image taken from powrightbetweentheeyes.typepad.com

People nowadays, including me and my husband, are constantly thinking about good business ideas to help come up with additional income for the family. Companies are likewise thinking of coming up with innovative business ideas that would of course give their customers value add service.  Here are some good business ideas that you might want to check out and consider.

  1. Basic Necessities – If you want to be conservative, marketing basic necessities is one good option for you. When I say basic necessities, I’m referring to everyday items we cannot live without like rice, cooking oil, sugar, salt, gas. These are things that people will buy regardless of its price.
  2. Baby items – There will always be babies! And I don’t think I need to elaborate why. As such, marketing baby items like clothes, shoes, diapers (especially diapers and milk), is a sure way to earn good bucks.
  3. Food cart business – people are always eating nowadays, and with the ever demanding lifestyle that people are now having, most tend to gravitate towards fast food. For frugal people who are always on the go, food in kiosks are a sure way to fill that hungry stomach without putting too much dent on one’s daily budget.
  4. Corporate giveaways – with the business process outsourcing business booming, more and more companies are expanding their operations and setting up offices here in Manila, which means corporate giveaways have larger markets. Items like pens, tshirts, trophies, bags etc are good corporate giveaways.
  5. Online selling – with Filipinos becoming more and more adept in online shopping and with the increased user base of PayPal in the Philippines, this is certainly an area that business should explore.

Well, I certainly hope that helped you in your search. If those are not your cup of team, I hope I was able to help you come up with another idea altogether.

Top Car Insurance Providers in Manila

Since irresistible car deals are all over the place, one of the things that you should be very keen on, is the insurance that goes with it. For us, who were devastated by typhoon Ketsana more than a year ago, next time we consider getting an insurance for our car, we will definitely make sure that Natural calamities (I refuse to call it Acts of God), are included. Well in case you’re buying a car now, then here are the top picks in car insurance providers:

1.) Malayan – I know Honda Marikina normally has a tie up with this company. Those who bought Honda cars prior to the typhoon Ketsana had their units replaced.

2.) BDO Car insurance – yes as in BDO as in the bank. They also cover natural calamities.

3.) UCPB Car insurance – yes, also the bank. It makes it convenient for you if you’re going to get your car loan from them. Save you the hassle of dealing with different companies.

For roadside assistance, you may want to sign up with AAP and Wheelers. Don’t just readily sign up for cheap auto insurance, make sure you know what you’re covered for.

Sideline Galore

image taken from fotosearch.com

I need more time! So many things I want to do and have to do. It seems that I hardly have time to slow down. I have a full time job, and on top of that I have tons of side line as a means of generating additional income. Lately, it feels like the only thing I do in the house is sleep, take a bath and change and then leave again. There’s just so many things happening. Below are the things that I’m currently engaged in:

- real estate business

- educational programs

- health and wellness business

I have tons of print ads and I guess I ought to get rubber stamps, just to be a little kinder to my hands. I do not want to write my name and contact information on more than 300 flyers. Well, anyway at least the holidays is bound to give me a much needed break.

IMPORTANCE OF LIFE INSURANCE

A lot of people do not see the importance of owning a life insurance policy, and this is an all-time challenge for insurance agents since they are marketing something that is intangible. This mindset though is more applicable to people in my country, where only 11% of the general population has an insurance policy and majority of those people who make up the 11% are under insured.

In first world countries, people put a premium on owning a life insurance. They are aware that doing so helps them cushions the blows of the uncertainties of life. They are so advanced that insurance providers for non-life, even have websites that allows you to get a quote by keying in the necessary information they will need. Although of course it is still a rough estimate, but I still find it convenient that you can estimate your premiums online, and even get an rv insurance quote online. Well, going back, the said mindset is, sadly still hasn’t rubbed off on most Filipinos. But here’s just a couple of reasons why you should change your mind about owning a life insurance policy, if you happen to be one of those people who believe it is not essential.

  • Life insurance is important if you love your family. A loved one’s death provides a huge emotional burden on the family, which makes things doubly painful, if the family is unable to afford a decent funeral for the deceased. That pain is even more compounded if the person who passed away left a huge amount of debt to the family. While the emotional burden is entirely inevitable, the undue stress due to financial hardships could be eliminated by owning an insurance policy.
  • If you own a car and you drive, then it doesn’t make sense if your car is insured while you are not. Funny? Yes, but a vast majority of my countrymen are like that.
  • Life insurance is a legacy of love. When you decide to purchase one, you are taking a step in making sure that when you’re gone, your family can still live adequately well, at least for a longer period of time.
  • Life insurance is a way to counter estate tax. Nobody escapes estate tax and when you have a lot of properties, the transfer of these properties to your family, involves the nasty procedure of paying the estate tax, which normally is at 20% of your total estate. The said sum of money has to be paid in cash, within 6months otherwise, you will be charged a penalty. And I’m sure you know what happens next.

Those are just some of the reasons, you may want to look into owning a policy. After all, there are more products now that also enables the policy holder to receive dividends and enjoy their money while still alive. ;)

INSURANCE RIDERS

When getting an insurance whether it is a life or non-life product, it is necessary to consider a lot of the provisions and restrictions of the policy. If possible, it will be wise to go through the contract with a legal counsel, not because you are doubting your intelligence but just because you want to make sure everything is crystal clear, especially when you go over the fine print.

Insurance riders are also things you may want to consider. For the benefit of those who are not familiar with the term, riders are additional provisions that could be attached to your contract or policy. An example would be the accidental death benefit rider, this just means that if the insured dies due to an accident, then the beneficiaries are entitled to double the amount of the coverage. Disability insurance riders are likewise important, the provisions for such may vary from one company to another. Bottom line is, these riders also covers you for some uncertainties that life can bring.

I’m going to have a hell week next week and so I’m trying to squeeze as much task as I could for the weekend. As of this writing my husband is already pestering me to finish up so we can go to church and go to the grocery after. Thank God for modern day conveniences that makes life a lot easier. And since most people received their pay last Friday, I’m thankful that groceries now have barcode scanner , unlike before. That just means faster processing. Alright I’m getting a mean look now from the hubby. Got to go…

Insurance talks

Yesterday while I was having lunch at my friend’s house, her Sunflife bill arrived. I remember that I’m way past overdue with mine. While there are a lot of life inurance providers in the company, Sunlife remains to be the top choice for most people. Manulife is also a reputable insurance company with a solid track record. Not really sure though with what happened to Philamlife. It was only Ayala Corp who salvaged the said company from completely going under.

Of course aside from trying to compare life insurance rates, another thing to consider before buying a policy is the company’s track record. You don’t want to trust your hard earned money to a company that is not stable.

No Guarantees

Life has no guarantees. No amount of insurance can make anything in your life absolutely certain. Although in most cases it still helps to do so. Even if you live in a first world country where your taxes work for you, it helps to have a health insurance. And all the more if you live in a third world country like the Philippines where your taxes goes to politicians pockets and where most government employees are rude and totally devoid of customer service skills.
Here in the Philippines good health insurance providers are Medicard and Maxicare. I think they’re the closest to Blue Advantage. Caritas Health Shield also has good and affordable terms for health policies.
Anyway, if you have kids it is best to have a good health insurance both for you and your family.

Failing the marshmallow test

Yesterday, I was only supposed to buy a pack of face oil remover sheets. but i ended up with a concealer, an eye-liner and a foundation/face powder refill. all because of the free bag that comes along when your purchase adds up to 350. Sometimes I find it hard to keep my money when there are promotional items that goes along with the purchase.

Good thing I didn’t have to spend for food last night. God gave me a taste of a sumptuous Puttanesca care of my team mate Trina. :)
