It was my husband who first took interest in watching this HBO TV Series. I thought of getting him the first book as a present for his birthday last year. Read more…

BOOKSALE LOOT

Last Friday I went to Booksale in Robinson’s Metroeast to find out if there’s still any Cecilia Ahern book that I could get my hands into. It was last Sunday that I went there and found Ahern’s Thank You for the Memories. I have the money right there but would like to get it the following day because I already went over my budget for the day, besides, I’m not sure what time my salary will be credited and so I opted not to get it. I have a rather disappointing conversation with 2 of their sales ladies, let’s just leave it at that.

I then went back last Friday and was glad that I found another book from Cecilia Ahern – If You Could See Me Now. And I got it for a whopping price of P145.00!!!! Sweet right?! Totally!

THE LOST SYMBOL BY DAN BROWN BOOK REVIEW

The Lost Symbol (Robert Langdon, #3)The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

To be completely honest, I’m still not able to make up my mind about this book. Sure I like the fact that as any typical Dan Brown book, this one kept me reading way past my bed time. Dan Brown is very wise as to make the chapters really manageable to read (like one or two pages) so the reader ends up promising himself that he would read just one more chapter before inserting the bookmark and putting off the book. LORD OF THE LOOSE ENDS BY LLOYD OGILVIE BOOK REVIEW

Lord of the Loose EndsLord of the Loose Ends by Lloyd Ogilvie

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I came across this book about two years ago, while I was inside a Book Sale outlet near my place of work back then. I felt the need to pick up the book and pay for it after reading through the first few pages of the book. Read more…

Captivating: Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman’s Soul Book Review

Captivating: Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman's SoulCaptivating: Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman’s Soul by John Eldredge

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I came across Captivating from one of my trips to the local bookstore near us. When I frequent a bookstore, chances are, I’m upset about something and would like to hear from God. And true enough, God placed this book on my way. Read more…

ESTIMATED SAVINGS ON BOOKS FOR 2012

Alright another book related post, I know, I must be totally boring you about all these book review posts, unless of course you’re a bookworm yourself. Anyhow, if you have inspected my blog, I do have a banner of Booksneeze somewhere and yes I do get most of my books from Booksneeze, which gives bloggers like me a chance to read their new book releases in exchange for an honest review of the book. Fair enough right? I like the fact that we are not in anyway obligated to write something positive about the books since we got it for free. Read more…

MORE THAN A BUCKET LIST BOOK REVIEW

More Than a Bucket List: Making Your Dreams, Passions, and Faith a RealityMore Than a Bucket List: Making Your Dreams, Passions, and Faith a Reality by Thomas Nelson Publishers

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

When I first saw the book More Than A Bucket List of Toni Birdsong I was under the impression that it will be somewhat similar to 20,000 Days and Counting, that it will be about a call to action of doing some things that creates greater impact towards the people around you, but more so, that it has the same compelling message of having a sense of urgency. Well, it is somewhat the same thinking about it now, minus the sense of urgency. Read more…

DIRTY GOD: JESUS IN THE TRENCHES BY JOHNNIE MOORE BOOK REVIEW

Dirty God: Jesus in the TrenchesDirty God: Jesus in the Trenches by Johnnie Moore

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I found the book Dirty God by Johnnie Moore rather intriguing when I first saw it and given that most of the ratings it got were high, I opted to request for the book to read it as well.

What I like about the book:

- The book started out strong with Johnnie Moore painting a clear picture of the practices of Hinduism in India and the sad reality that those people worshiping one of the many gods that they have, have had to tie up ribbons in the temple and then remove it later on when their prayers have been answered, and that many of the ribbons have been tattered by time signifying that a vast majority of prayers remain unanswered. 20,000 DAYS AND COUNTING BY ROBERT SMITH BOOK REVIEW

20,000 Days and Counting: The Crash Course for Mastering Your Life Right Now20,000 Days and Counting: The Crash Course for Mastering Your Life Right Now by Robert D. Smith

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was glad I picked this book and I must say that I was rather blown away by the simplicity of the concepts presented by Mr. Smith. Truly, brevity is the soul of wit. Robert Smith’s 20,000 Days and Counting is packed with universal truths that we all need to be reminded of in our daily lives, for us to have a sense of urgency. Read more…
