Cars 2!

My son would surely be delighted to see his favorite shiny red Lightning McQueen back on the fast lane. He is equally fond of Mater and Doc Hudson. I wonder what the story will be in this cartoon sequel, and for sure there will be new characters to spice up the movie. I just saw the poster last week in the movie house when we watched Fast Five, and so I’m just really excited for my little boy. I certainly hope SM Cinema is still having a special screening for families with kids with sensory problems, otherwise, we’ll just have to watch it at home then.

As I was browsing the net earlier, I found a site that says the movie is going to be shown on June 24th, although I’m not certain if that goes for the Philippine showing as well. I’ll just post an update once I find that out.

Fast Five Movie…

Thanks to Teleserv, I got to watch the newest addition to the Fast and Furious movies. I asked the husband to watch it in my behalf instead since I know he’d enjoy it more that I would, but something came up and he was unable to do so. So I went and watched the movie with other blogger friends. It was refreshing to see some of my blogger friends once again, and to finally meet some in person.

Going back to the movie, as always it’s such a wonder to watch those fancy cars! Real cool cars and well the story line, I’d say it’s really a movie. What I mean by that is that it’s way too ambitious to be able to plan and pull off something like that in real life. Aside from the previous casts, it was fun to see the Rock playing the role of a US top gun on the hunt for Vin Diesel and his troops. The story starts off with Vin Diesel being sentenced to imprisonment and was later on “rescued”. Most of the movie was shot in Rio, where the group decides to target a millionaire engaged in illegal activities and that’s where the whole story revolved.

Nope, I’m not giving away anymore than that. Don’t want to put some spoilers. Just want you to know that I had fun watching the movie. Lots and lots of cars and lots of good laugh as well in between.

Hachiko: A Dog’s Story

Last night, I decided to download the movie Hachiko: A Dog’s Story. I was definitely warned that it’s a sure-fire tear-jerker. It is a story about a friendship about one man and his dog. One cold night, fate brought man and puppy together and set them on a journey of love, friendship and unconditional loyalty. It’s a true story about a dog who’s unwavering loyalty for his human carried him on day after day, season after season, to wait at the train station where fate brought them together,  for 9 years since his human died. He was there, never missing a day, still awaiting the return of his dear friend.

My words wont do justice to Hachi’s love and loyalty, please watch the film and see how one dog is capable of such devotion. No other creature is deserving of the term – man’s best friend, but a dog. As a little boy once said when asked what love is: its a puppy wagging its tail excitedly, eager to see you, even if you left it alone all day. Hachiko: A Dog story perfectly encapsulates the deep bond a man and a dog can have.

GREEN LANTERN, SUCKER PUNCH LEAD WARNER’S 2011 LINE-UP

Warner Bros. Pictures proudly announces its enviable slate of films for 2011. Highlights include a new screen incarnation of comic book hero “Green Lantern,” a compelling re-imagining of “Red Riding Hood,” an all-girl, kick-ass action fantasy in “Sucker Punch” and the shocking conclusion to the “Harry Potter” saga in “Deathly Hallows – Part 2.”

Green Lantern.” Each sector of space is protected by a Green Lantern, possessing a power ring that uses a powerful green energy to do anything within the limits of the user’s imagination and will power. When the Green Lantern assigned to this sector of space finds himself dying on planet Earth, he tells the ring to find a suitable successor. The chosen replacement, hot-shot test pilot Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds), finds himself with a new job he never expected…

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2.” In this epic finale, the battle between the good and evil forces of the Wizarding world escalates into an all-out war. The stakes have never been higher and no one is safe. But it is Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) who may be called upon to make the ultimate sacrifice as he draws closer to the climactic showdown with Lord Voldemort. It all ends here.

Sucker Punch.” Director Zach Snyder’s epic action fantasy takes us into the vivid imagination of a young girl (Emily Browning) whose dream world provides the ultimate escape from her darker reality. Unrestrained by the boundaries of time and place, she is free to go where her mind takes her, and her incredible adventures blur the lines between what’s real and what is imaginary.

GEORGIE HENLEY IN “NARNIA” FOR THE LAST TIME

Georgie Henley returns to Narnia for the third and last time in “The Voyage of the Dawn Treader,” based on the C.S. Lewis classic children’s book series.  Fittingly enough, her very final scenes for director Michael Apted were action packed, typical of the adventure that she’s been on, both on screen and off, playing the delightful Lucy Pevensie who has journeyed far and wide into the magical realm of Narnia.

In the third film “The Voyage of the Dawn Treader,” the story centers on the younger Pevensie siblings Lucy (Georgie Henley) and Edmund (Skandar Keynes), who undertake the voyage of a lifetime.  The adventure begins in Cambridge, England, during World War II when the children are staying at the home of their unbearably irritating cousin Eustace Clarence Scrubb (Will Poulter).   All three are swallowed into a painting of a beautiful ship out at sea. VOLDEMORT HUNTS DOWN HARRY IN “DEATHLY HALLOWS, PART 1”

In Warner Bros.’ “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” — the seventh and final adventure in the Harry Potter film series told in two full-length parts — Lord Voldemort is on a mission: to end the life of “the Boy Who Lived.”

Director David Yates says, “Voldemort is on the cusp of absolute power. He’s been hiding in the shadows, biding his time until he could come back and impose his will on the rest of the world. Everything else in his master plan has come together; he just needs to deal with this one tiny detail. Voldemort doesn’t understand how this ‘child’ has become his strongest adversary, but he does know he must be the one to kill Harry Potter. First of all, it was destined and, secondly, there is the sheer satisfaction of it after being thwarted so often. It’s beyond personal at this point.” Read more…

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

This is one movie I’m certainly not going to miss. I am saving the date and will definitely make an effort to watch it in 3D. Kinda pathetic but I haven’t really watched movies in 3D. Yeah, either too little time or too lazy to do so. After all, it’s too expensive to watch in a movie theater, I might as well put my internet connection to good use and download movies at home.

Anyway, I’m gonna reserve seats for the screening to make sure we get a good spot. :) Can’t wait for Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows movie part 1!
