GEORGIE HENLEY IN “NARNIA” FOR THE LAST TIME

Georgie Henley returns to Narnia for the third and last time in “The Voyage of the Dawn Treader,” based on the C.S. Lewis classic children’s book series.  Fittingly enough, her very final scenes for director Michael Apted were action packed, typical of the adventure that she’s been on, both on screen and off, playing the delightful Lucy Pevensie who has journeyed far and wide into the magical realm of Narnia.

In the third film “The Voyage of the Dawn Treader,” the story centers on the younger Pevensie siblings Lucy (Georgie Henley) and Edmund (Skandar Keynes), who undertake the voyage of a lifetime.  The adventure begins in Cambridge, England, during World War II when the children are staying at the home of their unbearably irritating cousin Eustace Clarence Scrubb (Will Poulter).   All three are swallowed into a painting of a beautiful ship out at sea. HAYDEN CHRISTENSEN TAKES IT ALL IN “TAKERS”

After portraying a thief who can teleport himself anywhere in the 2008 hit “Jumper,” Hayden Christensen now plays  a more earth-bound bank robber in Columbia Pictures’ new action-thriller “Takers.”

A recent No. 1 box-office hit in the U.S., “Takers” also stars Matt Dillon, Paul Walker, Idris Elba, Jay Hernandez, Michael Ealy, Tip “T.I.” Harris and Chris Brown.

VOLDEMORT HUNTS DOWN HARRY IN “DEATHLY HALLOWS, PART 1”

In Warner Bros.’ “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” — the seventh and final adventure in the Harry Potter film series told in two full-length parts — Lord Voldemort is on a mission: to end the life of “the Boy Who Lived.”

Director David Yates says, “Voldemort is on the cusp of absolute power. He’s been hiding in the shadows, biding his time until he could come back and impose his will on the rest of the world. Everything else in his master plan has come together; he just needs to deal with this one tiny detail. Voldemort doesn’t understand how this ‘child’ has become his strongest adversary, but he does know he must be the one to kill Harry Potter. First of all, it was destined and, secondly, there is the sheer satisfaction of it after being thwarted so often. It’s beyond personal at this point.” Read more…

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

This is one movie I’m certainly not going to miss. I am saving the date and will definitely make an effort to watch it in 3D. Kinda pathetic but I haven’t really watched movies in 3D. Yeah, either too little time or too lazy to do so. After all, it’s too expensive to watch in a movie theater, I might as well put my internet connection to good use and download movies at home.

Anyway, I’m gonna reserve seats for the screening to make sure we get a good spot. :) Can’t wait for Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows movie part 1!

Sex in the City 2

Haven’t watched the said movie, but I intend to. It’s all about girl power and feeling good about yourself anyways, which I badly need at the moment. I wasn’t really a fan of Sex in the City series, but I got to watch a handful of episodes in the past. I haven’t even got the chance to watch the first movie, since most friends who are avid fans of the series said it was pretty disappointing. But I guess I’ll download it just the same, just so the second movie will make more sense to me.

I feel that it took them quite a while to come up with the second movie. Besides, a friend of mine got scared after watching the second movie, seeing the wrinkles and the lines of some of the lead characters faces. After the movie she bought the best anti wrinkle face cream she can afford. Looks like I’ll be doing the same in a few days time, now that I’m about to say hello again to looooonng work hours. But before that, I’ll do a movie marathon and one of the movies on my list is Sex in the City 2. :)

FIRST-LOOK IMAGE FROM DREAMWORKS’ “REAL STEEL”

In this first-look photo from DreamWorks Pictures’ “Real Steel,” which began shooting live-action scenes recently, Hugh Jackman isn’t throwing the punches — the guy to the left is.

The movie, directed by Shawn Levy (“Date Night”), imagines a world in which human boxing is non-existent, replaced by leagues of mechanized pugilists. It’s expected to arrive in theaters in November 2011.

“The moment of walking in and seeing these robots, my jaw was on the floor,” Jackman said. That’s because the robot in this image is a real device, not a digital visual effect. Read more…

Eclipse…finally!

I wrote my entry earlier while we were waiting for the movie to start screening slated at 8:50pm. I was too disappointed that the crew from Burger King where we ordered take out burgers and onion rings for the movie doesn’t have any sense of urgency at all. And just when you’re really in a hurry, you are faced with people who are completely clueless of the word urgency. When we finally managed to go upstairs at the cinema level, and was ordering my pearl drinks, the lady ordering right before me just couldn’t make up her mind what flavor she’ll go for. And to make that worse, she’s ordering 2 drinks with different flavors. The crew doesn’t help either, her companion is busy washing their other blenders. So we ended up missing 5 minutes of the film! ECLIPSE BY RED MOBILE UNLIMITED

Last week, hubby and I got to watch Knight and Day because we used the SM Movie passes that I won from an online contest of Red Mobile. Well, technically its is more of a raffle rather than a contest. Facebook followers of Red Mobile were asked to answer something. Two days after I left my comment I got a message in Facebook stating that I won and that I need to provide them with my address and contact details so they can send over the tickets.

Last week, I won another contest! They merely asked which team you are routing for – Edward or Jacob. Well of course I said I love Jacob. Lo and behold! I got another message from them telling me that I won again! I was absolutely thrilled!! But beyond winning, I was thrilled that God knew I wanted to watch that movie and had other money matters I needed to prioritize. In fact last week, during the first day showing of Eclipse hubby and I went to SM hoping we could use the pass we got before, but we were told we can only use it once the movie has been shown for already a week. And that’s how we ended up watching Knight and Day. But well, all’s good since hubby and I had a great time still. And well, God is spoiling me lately, so He got me these movie passes for Eclipse this time. :) Thank you God and thank you Red Mobile!

Movie Date with Hubby

Thanks to Red Mobile Unlimited, hubby and I were able to go out on a movie date last night at SM Marikina. Since funds were scarce as of late, going out and watching a movie is like a mortal sin. But God is really thoughtful. I won an online raffle in facebook and got 3 SM movie tickets that’s valid till July 1. When I got it, I wanted to watch a local film Here Comes the Bride, but somehow some things always comes up and I never got to watch it.

Yesterday we trooped to the movie house, with me (emphasis on me, because hubby is a little on the anti-Twilight series side) hoping that we could use it to watch Eclipse. But hubby already cautioned me not to raise my hopes too high, since it’s the first day of screening. True enough when we got there, we found out that they will only honor movie passes if the movie has been showing for a week. So we opted to watch Knight and Day instead. It was a typical action-packed Tom Cruise movie. But it was a lot more bearable for me this time around, because of Cameron Diaz. The action-packed scenes and comedy fusion is indeed refreshing. Makes it a great movie date, your man will enjoy the film and you will laugh a lot as well.
