BIRTHDAY THEMES
My son is turning 4 this coming July and I’m thinking of having a party for him either at the school or at a fast food chain where he can celebrate his special day with his teachers and classmates, and of course us his family. McDonald’s looks like a good place because they have a Toy Story themed party, my son will be delighted to see Woody and the rest of the gang. Perhaps it will be fun to ask the kids to come in costumes as well.

Baby Christening of my newest Godson
Just received an invitation in the mail today from Florida for my newest godson’s christening celebration on Feb 20. I wish I could fly to Florida for the said occasion but there’s just too many things to consider to make that happen. Like visa application, which is tedious, and of course the airfare and all that. So I guess I’ll just wait for his first birthday on December when they will come back here in PH to celebrate it here.
In the meantime, I’m going over some good websites to get an idea on some personalized baby gifts that would be good to give my godson.
Grand celebration marks Avida Towers Global City launch
Aside from a beautiful wedding which every couple is entitled to have, one of the basic things that a couple would have to save up for is a home. Ideally, before starting a family, it is best to have a home to call your own. No one would like to live for the rest of their lives in a rented home, where the rent goes up every so often and when you are restricted in terms of making modifications on the house. On top of that, once a couple have kids, there would be a long list of things to pay for and save up for. So it is really ideal to have a home immediately after marriage.
Some of the basic things you need to consider when choosing where to live would be the location. It is best to live within a stone’s throw away from good hospitals, good schools, malls and of course, your place of work. Living in a home situated right in the middle of all these things truly spells out a good work-life balance. It is the same notion that Avida, an Ayala company, has in mind when they came up with their Avida Towers project in the Fort Global City.

Avida Land Corp. recently marked another milestone with the launch of Avida Towers Global City, its first foray into one of the country’s most sought after addresses.
Weddings At Work
Weddings at Work (weddingsatwork.com) is a website that is all about weddings. Everything imaginable – articles on the requirements you need to secure for the wedding, finding a venue and different suppliers. You can opt to be a member in order to get discounted rates from selected suppliers who honors W@Wies.
For suppliers, you can find musicians, photographers, florists, caterers, designers and even gowns and tuxedo shirts rentals. They also have a wedding forum for couples to be wed and of course those who already tied the knot. I have a lot of friends who would vouch for how good this site is as a wedding resource. Since it’s June I’m sure there are a lot of W@Wies out there who are set to exchange I-do’s, and to them I say Best wishes and Congratulations!
Reunion = Eating Spree
Reunions are almost always a reason to celebrate, eat and be merry. And we did just that last week. Apparently, my brother-in-law who works in Macau went home for the weekend to have a medical check up and to see his family, and his extended family which includes us. So off we went to Toho Chinese Restaurant to pig out last weekend. Our household helper was overwhelmed with the amount of food my in-laws ordered. I myself found it rather hard to resist the food.
Next time, I’ll make sure I bring Fastin with me, an effective appetite suppressant.
late 20s
As one of my friends commented on my Facebook wall, I’m now officially in the late 20s. A few more minutes and my birthday will be over. And in just a matter of minutes, my husband and I will be celebrating our third year wedding anniversary. 24 hours after we celebrate those three years of blessed and wonderful union, it will be my husband’s turn to blow a candle on a birthday cake.
So what transpired today now that I turned 29? No birthday cake this year, didn’t feel the need to despite the fact that in my book a birthday is not a birthday if there’s no cake. What I’d like to remember for this day is the fact that today, my son had his first OT (Occupational Therapy) Session. The first of many to come. Why does he need that? That will be for another post.
Anyway, that’s all for now. Will head off to the shower before I go to bed.
