ESTIMATED SAVINGS ON BOOKS FOR 2012
Alright another book related post, I know, I must be totally boring you about all these book review posts, unless of course you’re a bookworm yourself. Anyhow, if you have inspected my blog, I do have a banner of Booksneeze somewhere and yes I do get most of my books from Booksneeze, which gives bloggers like me a chance to read their new book releases in exchange for an honest review of the book. Fair enough right? I like the fact that we are not in anyway obligated to write something positive about the books since we got it for free. Read more…
THOUGHTS ABOUT NICHOLAS SPARKS AND HIS NOVELS

I just finished watching the movie adaptation of one of Nicholas Sparks‘ novel – The Last Song starring Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth. While there is a love story angle still, the story focuses more on Ronnie ‘s (Miley Cyrus) relationship with her father (Greg Kinnear), who took them in for the summer. Apparently, the father and daughter had a lot of rebuilding to do, as her parents’ divorce caused her to be bitter towards her father. To cut the long story short, the father eventually died with cancer. Prior to his death, he and his daughter were able to finally make amends and she finished the last piece that his father was trying to compose. Read more…

If your job doesn’t give you time for your family and God, then you’re in wrong job.
You can always make more money, but you can never make more time.

Office Politics
Whether you’re a rank and file employee personnel, in mid-management or upper management, office politics is something that you will experience whether you like it or not. In 10 years of working in a corporate set up, I’ve met with people who will do whatever they can just to move up the corporate ladder. When I say whatever, I mean whatever. I saw people who’d turn on their peers and tell on them to get the favor of the big boss, others who slept their way up and others who love to take credit of the hard work of other people. The sad reality is that, some people believe that the end justify the means, so whatever it takes, no matter how many people they step on, what matters is at the end of the day, they get the promotion.
When you’re already in the mid-management and senior management level, you’ll meet people who has skewed concept of “perception management”, and that is, to dish dirt on other people, hype on other people’s weaknesses so they look better. When it comes to pressing issues, they try to sweep the dirt under the rug, all in the spirit of perception management. So wrong! The only way you build credibility and integrity is by being honest. At the end of the day, it all boils down to being able to sleep soundly at night knowing that you did not step on anyone’s toes and that you were honest in and out.
Last thing you may want to remember is that you came to work to work, and not to make friends. Never let your guard down, never trust anyone, always second guess everyone. The person you trusted most today may be the person who will tell on you tomorrow. Those are the only certainties about office politics.
Cleaning up my drawer…
A lot of the clutter we have in our drawer are photocopies of good articles we’ve stored up for future reading. I guess we kinda forgot to nail out a specific date as to when we’re finally going to sit down and read through it. In the past those papers, ended up in the trash can eventually. This time, I wanna make sure the same thing doesn’t happen. I like reading but corporate life is robbing me of the leisure. Anyway, to make sure these reading materials don’t end up getting trashed again, I have a resolution to compile them and have them binded using Velobind, which makes it look more neat and organized. I used to go for hardbound when I try to have my books binded, but I figured its too heavy.
Well, I’m just trying to log an entry, to maximize my hosting fees. hehe
hope you guys enjoy the rest of the week.
