GREEN LANTERN, SUCKER PUNCH LEAD WARNER’S 2011 LINE-UP

Warner Bros. Pictures proudly announces its enviable slate of films for 2011. Highlights include a new screen incarnation of comic book hero “Green Lantern,” a compelling re-imagining of “Red Riding Hood,” an all-girl, kick-ass action fantasy in “Sucker Punch” and the shocking conclusion to the “Harry Potter” saga in “Deathly Hallows – Part 2.”

Green Lantern.” Each sector of space is protected by a Green Lantern, possessing a power ring that uses a powerful green energy to do anything within the limits of the user’s imagination and will power. When the Green Lantern assigned to this sector of space finds himself dying on planet Earth, he tells the ring to find a suitable successor. The chosen replacement, hot-shot test pilot Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds), finds himself with a new job he never expected…

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2.” In this epic finale, the battle between the good and evil forces of the Wizarding world escalates into an all-out war. The stakes have never been higher and no one is safe. But it is Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) who may be called upon to make the ultimate sacrifice as he draws closer to the climactic showdown with Lord Voldemort. It all ends here.

Sucker Punch.” Director Zach Snyder’s epic action fantasy takes us into the vivid imagination of a young girl (Emily Browning) whose dream world provides the ultimate escape from her darker reality. Unrestrained by the boundaries of time and place, she is free to go where her mind takes her, and her incredible adventures blur the lines between what’s real and what is imaginary.

Celebrities named SBC’s 10 Best Customers

What do celebrities like premiere model-turned-hunk actor Akihiro Sato, beauty empire heiress Cristalle Belo, model and Animax VJ Stephanie Henares, celebrity daughter and stylist to the stars Alyanna Martinez, director Paul Soriano and International Publicist Joyce Ramirez have in common? Their favorite cup of coffee, it turns out.

For the past decade or so, Manila has joined the world under the spell of the coffee craze. As coffee shops and bars opened in almost every corner, a coveted lifestyle was born, fueled by the search for the perfect cup of coffee along with the need to retreat to a place where one can relax with the beverage in hand. And while Pinoys love their coffee, so do they love celebrities. Celebrity-spotting is as big a national pastime as coffee drinking, as seen in our almost relentless devouring of the goings-on in their lives.

But as the mix of coffee and celebrities go, Seattle’s Best Coffee (SBC) goes beyond the cult of coffee cool to celebrate 10 good years of the renowned American franchise literally describes as “the best coffee in Seattle.” Read more…

GEORGIE HENLEY IN “NARNIA” FOR THE LAST TIME

Georgie Henley returns to Narnia for the third and last time in “The Voyage of the Dawn Treader,” based on the C.S. Lewis classic children’s book series.  Fittingly enough, her very final scenes for director Michael Apted were action packed, typical of the adventure that she’s been on, both on screen and off, playing the delightful Lucy Pevensie who has journeyed far and wide into the magical realm of Narnia.

In the third film “The Voyage of the Dawn Treader,” the story centers on the younger Pevensie siblings Lucy (Georgie Henley) and Edmund (Skandar Keynes), who undertake the voyage of a lifetime.  The adventure begins in Cambridge, England, during World War II when the children are staying at the home of their unbearably irritating cousin Eustace Clarence Scrubb (Will Poulter).   All three are swallowed into a painting of a beautiful ship out at sea. Foosball table for less than $100 at Buy.com

I remember a friend of mine bought a foosball table for almost PhP13,000, which is roughly $250 – $300, depending on the exchange rate. I wanted the same thing at home, since it’s a good gaming piece, especially when you are entertaining a bunch of people. I came across a really nice deal at buy.com, they are currently offering foosball tables for only $95.99, which is not even PhP5,000. If only they could also offer free shipping here in the Philippines, that would indeed be a great buy.

Beyond Tired

Wow, I realized this is actually the second time I used Beyond Tired as a title. And well as of this time, it’s a new record. Last Thursday, I got in the office at roughly 6pm and ended my shift at 9am the next day. I went home and I had to drop by the wet and dry market to buy supplies for the house. Then I slept for almost 2 hours when I got home and after that I was off to the office once again to attend a 2pm roadshow from HR.

The hubby and I got home last night at 830sh. I just kissed and hugged my little boy and then dropped into the bed, without actually changing and doing my nightly ablutions. I was merely going for a few minutes of shut eye. But lo and behold, it as if I actually turned to sleep aids that I woke up the next morning. The husband just put on a blanket over me since I absolutely knocked out.  Well, catch you later folks, I’m off to get some more Zsss. :)

HAYDEN CHRISTENSEN TAKES IT ALL IN “TAKERS”

After portraying a thief who can teleport himself anywhere in the 2008 hit “Jumper,” Hayden Christensen now plays  a more earth-bound bank robber in Columbia Pictures’ new action-thriller “Takers.”

A recent No. 1 box-office hit in the U.S., “Takers” also stars Matt Dillon, Paul Walker, Idris Elba, Jay Hernandez, Michael Ealy, Tip “T.I.” Harris and Chris Brown.

In the film, a group of high-living young criminals bankroll their extravagant lifestyle with a series of painstakingly planned bank robberies while a dedicated police officer makes it his personal mission to stop them. After years of meticulously planned heists, the crew is convinced by one of their own to risk it all for one last big score, but pulling off the job of a lifetime with a dogged detective and a vicious rival gang on their tail is a tall order, even for these seasoned pros. VOLDEMORT HUNTS DOWN HARRY IN “DEATHLY HALLOWS, PART 1”

In Warner Bros.’ “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” — the seventh and final adventure in the Harry Potter film series told in two full-length parts — Lord Voldemort is on a mission: to end the life of “the Boy Who Lived.”

Director David Yates says, “Voldemort is on the cusp of absolute power. He’s been hiding in the shadows, biding his time until he could come back and impose his will on the rest of the world. Everything else in his master plan has come together; he just needs to deal with this one tiny detail. Voldemort doesn’t understand how this ‘child’ has become his strongest adversary, but he does know he must be the one to kill Harry Potter. First of all, it was destined and, secondly, there is the sheer satisfaction of it after being thwarted so often. It’s beyond personal at this point.” Read more…

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

This is one movie I’m certainly not going to miss. I am saving the date and will definitely make an effort to watch it in 3D. Kinda pathetic but I haven’t really watched movies in 3D. Yeah, either too little time or too lazy to do so. After all, it’s too expensive to watch in a movie theater, I might as well put my internet connection to good use and download movies at home.

Anyway, I’m gonna reserve seats for the screening to make sure we get a good spot. :) Can’t wait for Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows movie part 1!

Wanted: LED TV

image taken from blog.activehome.co.uk

About 2 weeks ago, the hubby and I trooped to Greenhills to buy his PS3. It was a gift for his birthday. It works two ways for me, one he stays at home so no more jealousy paranoia for me, and he gets to save by staying at home. On the other hand, when we got home and he tried it on, it looks like some of the games are in black and white. We later on found out that the culprit is our 12 year  old tv set. So we’re saving up for now for a new LED TV. Any suggestions on what’s a good and affordable brand?
