Haircare 101

image taken from immortalhumans.com

They say that the hair is the crowning glory of a person, and I haven’t actually heard of anyone who dared to contradict the said statement. And that is why women, and even men, are becoming more and more conscious of how  they take care of their hair. Below are a few tips you can use to ensure that you give your hair its much need TLC.

  • Use a conditioner – while others, mostly men, may be content with just using a shampoo, using a conditioner provides extra TLC for your hair. It not only makes the hair softer, it also aids in the repair of damaged hair.
  • Use a shampoo that is appropriate for your hair type. If you have colored hair, frizzy or straight hair, there are shampoo brands out there that is well suited for your hair type. There’s even a shampoo for thin hair.
  • Using various hair products for styling your hair too often can damage your hair and your scalp, make sure you take steps in restoring the natural sebum of your hair by going for hair treatments such as hot oils or hair spas.
  • Brush and comb your hair! Yes that old adage still holds true. It helps make your hair shine. :)

HerbaLife

image taken from harfordvelo.org

Last week while I was at the gym doing my cardio exercise, I saw one woman who was mixing a herbalife shake, she even has a blender with her. Her other friends drank as well, it seems that she is selling it. Then while I was changing, after my work out,  I see flyers inside the dressing area. I’m guessing it was from the same lady. It’s a Herbalife flyer complete with basic information about a healthy breakfast and weight loss success stories from those who’ve tried the said product. It is so enticing when you see the pictures that goes with their testimonials. Perhaps one of these days, I might just give her a call. :)

Failing the marshmallow test

Yesterday, I was only supposed to buy a pack of face oil remover sheets. but i ended up with a concealer, an eye-liner and a foundation/face powder refill. all because of the free bag that comes along when your purchase adds up to 350. Sometimes I find it hard to keep my money when there are promotional items that goes along with the purchase.

Good thing I didn’t have to spend for food last night. God gave me a taste of a sumptuous Puttanesca care of my team mate Trina. :)

California Dreaming

Later this afternoon, I will be ta king the first step in realizing my dream for a better future for my family. I am praying for God’s blessing and speedy processing of our papers. Hopefully we’ll be spending Christmas next year away from Pinas. Despite the title of this entry, please note that my plans of moving to another part of the world doesn’t mean that we were going to the US. On the other hand, I’m dreaming of going to the US mainly to visit California and see my long lost relatives and cousins who grew up there, and of course check out Disney Land. On top of that I’d like to visit some friends in Utah and go to Florida for a grand Orlando vacation.

Going back to the Gym

The clock is ticking and in less than 3 months time, I’m supposed to lose more than 20lbs. I guess that’s a fairly feasible project. I still have a couple of items I need to cross out on my list until I can finally start working out again. Here they are:

  • Find a decent gym with reasonable rates for their boxing program.
  • Buy mbt shoes as a work out shoes, since I just realized I don’t have any rubber shoes anymore.
  • Buy perhaps a couple of jogging pants and leggings.
  • Buy a bottle of fat burner to go with the work out.

Sounds like a plan, eh? I certainly hope to start on it by September at the most, so help me God. hehe :)

Sex in the City 2

Haven’t watched the said movie, but I intend to. It’s all about girl power and feeling good about yourself anyways, which I badly need at the moment. I wasn’t really a fan of Sex in the City series, but I got to watch a handful of episodes in the past. I haven’t even got the chance to watch the first movie, since most friends who are avid fans of the series said it was pretty disappointing. But I guess I’ll download it just the same, just so the second movie will make more sense to me.

I feel that it took them quite a while to come up with the second movie. Besides, a friend of mine got scared after watching the second movie, seeing the wrinkles and the lines of some of the lead characters faces. After the movie she bought the best anti wrinkle face cream she can afford. Looks like I’ll be doing the same in a few days time, now that I’m about to say hello again to looooonng work hours. But before that, I’ll do a movie marathon and one of the movies on my list is Sex in the City 2. :)

Working on a New Blog

I still have another blog that I need to work on, something more to do with fitness. Although I have projectprettyandfab.info to document my steps in getting back in shape and pre-pregnancy look, I have another blog that will be more focused in weight loss diet. I already have a first post up for drafting since I bought something for weight loss that I wanted to try. The only problem I have right now is the time to actually do it, since I have to be able to do all my online stuff while the little boy is asleep, otherwise, he’d see me with the laptop and he’ll throw a huge tantrum because he’d want his shows. The writing part is not that difficult. What’s tedious is the entire process of setting up, like picking a template, getting widgets and technorati profile and all. Hopefully, I find sometime to do all that real soon.

Pimples again! GRRR!

Haven’t had the chance to go around the neighborhood as of late to get me some Malunggay leaves, add to that the stress of thinking of a lot of things, including a dumb b*tch who incessantly sends text messages to your husband at odd hours of the night, and here I am with an acne outbreak once again. I’ve never been one to stick to a specific brand or line of beauty products. I’ve always been a soap and water girl. Well I guess it’s high time I do considering my new goal.

Anyway, I’m thinking of trying out brands that contain tea tree oil, as it is said to be a potent ingredient when the goal is having a face cleared of zits. Any recommendations for a good brand friends?

Johnson and Johnson’s Mommy Bloggers Meet up

j&jLast Saturday – May 29, 2010, Johnson & Johnson’s held the third part of its Mommy bloggers meet up. It was my first time to attend as I was able to agree to attend other events during the first two scheduled meet ups. But I’m all set for the rest. I met other mom’s, soon-to-be mom’s, and would-be mom’s in the future (the single ladies). Anyway, we met at Dulcinea in Eastwood. Mee-i and I thought there was no one at the venue just yet so off we ate at McDonald’s for breakfast. When we came back after, it was only then that we found out that the event will be taking place at the second floor of Dulcinea and it’s already started. So yeah, we were fashionably late.

The main topics we’ve discussed are: 1.) Creating a Safe Environment for your Baby  2.) Touch Therapy and how it improves your child’s development Read more…
