Last night I was so consumed with reading possible new hobbies that I could try my hands on, both as a means of art venture and eventually wanting to turn it into a small manufacturing business. I slept past my bed time since I was so engrossed reading about beaded jewelry making (already tried it in the past and liked it), baking (too many people doing it) and doing other crafts like knitting and crochet (done it in the past) among other things. There are two things that came to mind, one would be reviving my jewelry making venture.

For beaded jewelry making, I’ll have buy new tools as my old ones are all rusty, literally, all because of the flooding brought about by Typhoon Ketsana back in 2009. A little investment on the beads, wires and of course some magazines for patterns. I’m thinking of signing up for an advanced wiring class but I think with a little research and right keywords, I could easily get youtube videos for simple tutorials on that. Parties are happy occasions marking different milestones in life like birthdays, weddings, baptisms, promotions and anniversaries to name a few. And though I love attending parties, organizing them is something I am not very good at. And perhaps there are a lot of people like me, thus, the need for coordinators came to be. Since my kid started school last year, I got to know a few of the parents, mostly moms, whose kids also go to the same school. One who I became pretty close with is an events coordinator by profession. I’m surprised about all the nitty-gritty that goes along with planning a party. One thing that really amazed me at just how detailed it could get is the fact that they even color coordinate the confetti and party poppers to make it aligned with the color motif of the party. Wow! Secrets of the Vine: Breaking Through to Abundance is beyond a beautiful read. I thank the Lord for this book, in the same way I am grateful for the Mr. Wilkinson’s other book – The Prayer of Jabez. The spiritual truths and insights in this book has been instrumental in making me learn about what it is like to break through from daily routines and devotions that feel rather empty and more of a chore in the past. Mokingjay is the last book of the Hunger Games book series. The story of Katniss Everdeen and her continued battle against the cruelties of the Capitol. Having survived the Hunger Games twice, Katniss finds herself in a much more difficult and dangerous situation. And to make things even more complicated she has to confront her ever growing feelings for Peeta and the feelings of betrayal and guilt towards Gale for feeling that way about Peeta. Read more…

The Wedding Dress is a tale of four women connected by a lovely wedding dress that was first worn a century ago – that in itself is enough to get me interested in the book. Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I amazed myself at how fast I finished reading this book. If it were a food, I would have looked like someone beyond famished trying to wolf it down in as fast as I could. Nonetheless, even if that were the case, it could not be said that I finished it off without trying to really taste the wonderful different flavors meshed in this dish. In fact, the book took me from love, pain, to rage, fear, hilarity and back. It is so satisfying that like a dog completely gorged up in his meal, that he ends up licking his chops trying to relish whatever flavors still left in his mouth, I ended up lingering on the book for a bit, trying to replay the scenes in my head over and over again.
