Last night I was so consumed with reading possible new hobbies that I could try my hands on, both as a means of art venture and eventually wanting to turn it into a small manufacturing business. I slept past my bed time since I was so engrossed reading about beaded jewelry making (already tried it in the past and liked it), baking (too many people doing it) and doing other crafts like knitting and crochet (done it in the past) among other things. There are two things that came to mind, one would be reviving my jewelry making venture.

For beaded jewelry making, I’ll have buy new tools as my old ones are all rusty, literally, all because of the flooding brought about by Typhoon Ketsana back in 2009. A little investment on the beads, wires and of course some magazines for patterns. I’m thinking of signing up for an advanced wiring class but I think with a little research and right keywords, I could easily get youtube videos for simple tutorials on that. Mom and I started a micro-business. Last week we started selling ladies accessories. She brings it to church and after the service, she shows it to the member of her cell group and the members of the women’s fellowship. And well, it clicked! Today I asked her to bring more items with her. Hopefully they like it. The good thing about this business is that unlike the food business, there’s no spoiling of goods.

Yesterday, I also bought initial stocks for my body scrub business. I hope this one clicks as well. We just need to package it really well. We also bought a colored printer that also functions as a copier, scanner and fax machine. Next on the list is another external hard drive and an office table and then we’ll be all set for our business. Which reminds me, I need help with document management, as I’m expecting to have lots of files as we come up with packaging for our hand sanitizers and body scrubs. It will definitely help me in getting more organized and easily computing for our expenses, profit and revenue.

It sucks that I’m back in the corporate world. Well, alright I should be thankful that I at least have a job. A woman at this time and age could not afford not to have one, it is a sin in itself to be idle. Pardon me for not making sense, most of what I’m writing have personal subtexts.

Anyway, I’m planning on scouring the web to look for unique products from different parts of the globe to bring here in Manila. A friend of mine who is a wholesale distributor of glutathione has hit big and is now filthy rich! My cousin who happens to be the sole distributor of Avaya’s market competition has also hit a gold mine! I’m looking for products with a longer shelf life, so yeah I’m crossing out food on the list. Perhaps cosmetics, or other items pretty unique and still unheard of.
