There are so many detective shows in tv these days, but nothing beats what started it all – CSI Vegas. I used to be a big fan of the said show since my hubby got me hooked on the said show. I think the other shows are good, of course including the CSI clones – New York and Miami, but my favorite remains to be Vegas.
Four or five years ago, I not only got hooked in watching the show because of the interesting cases, I guess the detective genes from my parents had to do with it. You see my mom and dad met in college. They were classmates and they took up BS Criminology. I used to think it was gruesome, and well watching the show not only re-affirms that notion of mine. But well, I guess with the show featuring modern day gadgets and equipments that helps in extracting and processing pieces of evidence from the crime scene, somehow I managed to understand how my folks got interested in taking up such a course. I could imagine that crime scene investigation is beyond tedious back then.
Seriously, I thought of going back to school to take up the said course. But then again I decided against it because of monetary concerns and because I feel that the colleges and universities offering the said course here in Manila still has a lot of things to improve on. People in first world countries are more fortunate to have actually good universities that offer criminal justice degrees. I think it’s absolutely cool to be a CSI! Dang if only I could afford to study in the US for it. I guess I’ll just have to settle for watching these tv series at home. After all, I might actually chicken out when faced with a cadaver.
Will do a CSI Vegas marathon over the weekend.
