Jenny McCarthy used to be an MTV Vj, that’s as little as I know about her life before she gave birth. I also know she used to be a sexy ad model when I saw a huge pin up of her wearing a sexy 2-pc bikini posted in the the girls locker and shower room of the gym where I used to work out. I guess it’s a way to encourage girls to lose weight whenever they see her enviable figure.
Going back, I’m really not good when it comes to people in Hollywood so I really don’t know her. I found out about her when my dear godmother and aunt sent me her book – Louder than Words. It’s Jenny’s documentary of when she found out that he son has autism and how she waged a war against it, and WON! Hers is a story of hope and determination.
Currently, I am reading through her follow up book – Mother Warriors.
I saw it in National Bookstore and immediately grabbed it and paid for it at the cashier, never mind that it’s not a budgeted purchase. I need to read it and I need to re-kindle that hope that I can get my son back.
I’m mid way into the book and it’s all about stories about parents who did not give up on their children. Also it is about Jenny’s courageous battle to tell the American Association of Pediatricians that there is a link between the vaccines and autism. We are not just angry mothers looking to for someone or something to blame. Yes our children may have been predisposed but as they say it is the classic case of genetics loaded the gun and environment pulled the trigger. It is disappointing that the AAP would just turn a deaf ear, just because, it is more profitable that way.
To Jenny McCarthy, thank you for offering hope and for standing up for all of us mothers whose once healthy kids were snatched from us by autism with a visit to the pedia and a seemingly harmless vaccination. Thank you for reminding us not to give up the fight. God bless you! Count me in on this fight.
