TORN

Too many things going on in my mind right now. Just want to hit the “pause” button in life till I get a clear sense of what I want to do. But life doesn’t wait and there is no pause button. :( I have to do what I can to keep on living and to make a decision as soon as I can.

I Smell A Surprise

My dearest cousin sent me a message via Facebook last week. Something about an item she asked her brother to give me so as we could be beach ready anytime. She’s been in the US for almost a decade now and she can’t wait to go back home and visit. And quite frankly with her message, I can definitely smell a surprise coming. And I replied to her email telling her I hate surprises and that if she’s coming home anytime soon, I wanted her to give me a heads up so I can force myself to go on a diet. :P But I’m sure as heaven she won’t tell me if ever. So here I am scouring the web for lipozene reviews. Yeah talk about finding ways to ditch the fat fast. hehe Well, I certainly hope my dear cousin gets to go home before the rainy season starts.

Lola Techie

My mom earned a new nick name – Lola Techie. Why? Yesterday, we downloaded a couple of movie torrentz, along with that I loaded a couple of websites with videos that we wanted to watch, some videotaped webinars.  Before leaving for work, my mom told me to leave the laptop open because she wanted to access her Facebook account. She said she has a couple of friends she wants to poke. Whew! Imagine that! hehe And so we obliged and left the laptop on. My mom is turning into a lola techie.

When we got home, hubby said he saw a couple of other websites. Seems like my mom is actually surfing the net. One website that she opened was www.arthritispainrelief.net, looks like you really can tell a persons age by the literature that they are reading. Amazing how people are adapting to technology. Before, my mom could hardly find her way through navigating a mobile phone, now she sees a new model of mobile phone, she speculates whether it has bluetooth, fm radio and how many megapixels the camera phone has. Lola techie ng lola techie nga! hehe

Can’t Wait

image taken from iheartberlin.de

Time is neither friend nor foe… That’s from a poem in a book I had back in high school. The statement is very true. Time will not hasten if you are getting tired of waiting nor will it slow down if you’re in a hurry. Right now I just can’t wait for something. Something really life changing. It feels as if too much time is slipping away, too much time for me to do the things that I want to do. Oh well, I guess I’m in a season of waiting.

House Make Over

Our house is a bungalow 2 bedroom house with 2 toilet and bath, a typical choice for starting families. We’re actually renting the place from a relative. Yesterday, I saw a friend’s house through her Facebook albums and it was just really inspiring how she transformed their house into a really cozy abode from a simple bungalow house. Then, I thought of suddenly embarking on a house makeover project. I guess not this year, but perhaps next year. We have to finish up paying all our liabilities for now and start building our savings. There are a lot of things that I wanted to design, like a contemporary sofa, a book shelf, side tables, kitchen cabinet and so the list goes on. That is why it would be wise to put it off for now, and better break it down to smaller, achievable plans. Dang, I’m still talking about SMART goals even if I’m talking about things to do at home. Anyway, for now, I’ll just have to do with reading through back issues of Real Living magazines.

Lab Tests Galore

I think my blood sugar went up as of late, and was thinking of having a complete set of lab tests just to be on the safe side. The tedious thing about having an FBS is the fasting! It would have been completely okay if not for the fact that I work nights and so it’s absolutely hard not to drink or eat anything for the entire 9 hours I’m in the office. Good thing we went to my mother-in-law’s house last week and I was able to check my blood sugar level using her glucometer. And thank God it’s only at 110!

One test down! I just need to find out my cholesterol level and other stuff. Which reminds me that I have to look for affordable creatine supplements for my mom. If you happen to know a good brand please do message me. :)

Waiting for a Phone Call

My cousin went to Libya two weeks before all hell broke loose in there. He was deployed there to work as a nurse in a hospital in Tripoli. We were of course happy that he will finally be able to go abroad and work as a nurse as there’s a surplus of registered nurses here and it is extremely difficult to get a job. When he left we were also happy because he left us some of his stuff which became our new toys, like this desk top I’m using right now and his other ipod and blackberry phone. The only thing he didn’t entrust us with was his nikon rifle scope which he left in the care of his girlfriend’s dad who is also a collector of nikon rifles.

The week before last week, he called up his girlfriend to say that they are okay and that he did not sign up for the voluntary evacuation as they are okay. And last week I still had a chance to talk to him via YM and he once again told us he’s okay. Now that Kadafi has issued a warning that they will definitely declare war once the US decides to meddle with the situation it got us all the more worried. And yesterday he called his girlfriend to say that they don’t have internet access again, you could just imagine how worried we are. I just hope things get better and well, as the cliche goes, please help us pray for world peace.
